As an Igasho* Blademaster with 21 strength, using an un-artied sword, against Thalkros' 46 cutting robes, hitting his legs to keep trueshield from being a variable:

(tried to tab delimit for the spreadsheet lovers out there but forum wouldn't recognize the tabs, sorry!)

D.Stat ----- Damage Done (**)
185 ----- 567
180 ----- 558
175 ----- 550
170 ----- 543
165 ----- 534
160 ----- 526
155 ----- 516

P.Stat ----- Wounds Received (strikes)
165 ----- 431
160 ----- 420
155 ----- 407
150 ----- 394
145 ----- 383
140 ----- 371
135 ----- 359

P.Stat ----- Wounds Received (lunges)
165 ----- 690
160 ----- 672
155 ----- 652
150 ----- 632
145 ----- 614
140 ----- 595
135 ----- 575

Notes:

* IIRC Igashos receive a slight wounding bonus with blademaster weapons, if anyone wants to re-test with another race to confirm stat correlations I invite you to do so and post your results.

** For those unaware, an opponent receives the same amount damage whether you use a lunge or a strike.

If you plug these into a chart you can see that the correlation between the damage and precision stats and their actual outcome on an opponent is -nearly- linear. People getting into the nitty-gritty analysis of these numbers will notice that there seems to be a very slight diminishing return on damage dealt as the damage stat increases, and the same seems to occur on the precision end of things as well.

I didn't test balance times compared to speed stat, but if I recall correctly from some tests a long time ago one should balance approximately .2 seconds faster for every 10 points of speed on a weapon (if someone cares to test this and post their results it would be great). This knowledge, coupled with ones knowledge of the average sip balance should be able to help prospective knights decide on what stats are best for their weaponry. Any comments, suggestions, or additions to this are encouraged and will be appreciated.

Enjoy! cool.gif

Just FYI 46 robes is about as crappy as you can get. 65-70 is the standard for good robes.

heh, I know. Point of the exercise was to show the stat/wounds/damage correlations, not to say that people should expect exactly these numbers on everyone they hit. Robes just needed to stay constant, and I wanted to mention the stat on them for posterity.

Yeah, I know you were trying to get us to focus on the wounds/damage numbers, but all I could look at was those robe stats. Gonna have to make fun of Thalk IG now.

70ish is the splendour range.
55 to 60 is the greatrobe range.

If anyone's curious I recently runed one of my shofas with the +15 rune so I could compare the balance times between my hands.

The slow shofa has 95/95/110 the fast one has 110/110/125.

This is not remotely extensive testing but I bashed two eagles, fastbash has a speed modifier bash does not. Percentages are the speed improvement.

Eagle 1:
Bash: 4.25 4.86 14.3%
Bash: 4.25 4.57 7.5%
fastbash: 3.47 3.8 9%
fastbash: 2.99 3.49 16%
fastbash 2.66 2.98 12%
fastbash: 2.47 3.08 24%

Eagle 2:
fastbash: 3.64 3.96 8%
fastbash: 3.27 3.93 20%
fastbash: 3.39 4.03 18%
fastbash: 3.02 3.60 19%
fastbash: 2.52 2.85 13%

Average percentage improvement 14.61%

Since 125 is 13.6% faster than 110 (unless I fail at math) it looks like the improvement is pretty close to linear.

I thought the numbers were more even then this otherwise I would've done more testing. sad.gif
