(But I did slow how often they spawn by a bit, see if that helps!)

Thank you. smile.gif

Yes, sand creatures are annoying as Nil. However, they're really not that bad. I just beat on it until it's a serpent and then call for help. We're being very vigilant about it. No, I can't tank a serpent, and yes it takes forever to kill... but meh. If you don't like them avoid them. My biggest concern is that they aggro novices. I've yet to see someone die who's not a novice or a low-level character.
Edit: sorry Tully. ninja.gif

Also, did you slow down the spawn rate for elementals? They seem a bit different, and we don't deal with them like every half hour.

laugh.gif Oh man I totally forgot about that. Best reaction to the imminent apocalypse ever.
Shiri2010-12-15 15:57:37
Wasn't it "Bloody shite"?
Jack2010-12-15 16:33:58
The prefix is immaterial! It is the "shite" that makes it!

Don't worry about it. I'm having fun although last night was a little much. One of the weirdest things is I always forget that I have grace applied after death, so I end up wondering "wow, these monsters aren't so bad". I need to remember to shield and serpent more.

Although is 37 low level? (Keep in mind my character doesn't have guild skills, so I don't think I have the same "bash ability" you'd get with any other character).

Definitely low level, especially without guild skills. (To the minds of most players, in fact, anything below level 80 is small beans.)

It's just "bloody" makes it sound nice and British somehow, unless she was eating black pudding or something.

Crude, man. Crude. Think of the kids.

Bloody does add a certain je ne sais quoi, though...
Shiri2010-12-15 17:42:38
I'm not the one that said it in a global channel!

If I know my Lusternia: Mama Esty.

Muahaha, found the log on the forums:

Estarra, the Eternal says, "Bloody shite! Did a Seal just break?"
Lendren2010-12-16 03:13:20
It's quoted in my play on the subject. Actually, being a bit of a jerk, I quoted it in another play for comic effect, too.

If you were a real jerk, then you would have quoted it in every play for no reason.
Malarious2010-12-16 06:58:19
I just read the first few posts and what event was it...

Anyone remember the mobs who seemed to level? When they killed someone they got STRONGER, so sometimes you could tackle them solo and other times they would wipe up small groups?

Fun times.

EDIT:

Oh! The eye of Dynara event I think it was too. Where acquisitio would try to take the eye in the room which would set off a trap and kill like everyone inside!
shavizatchi2010-12-16 07:40:55
I think the problem with this is that, for the young, there's absolutely no protection against those things. As a level 58 SC Faeling, I survive if I run fast enough. My alt, though, had no such luck. It's not a matter of "run if you can't kill them," that logic doesn't hold when they go through a reflection and kill you before you can move one room away. Especially when it's a level 5 character with innocence. I don't know how many of those people new to Lusternia end up staying around, but I can't imagine many of them are going to stay if they start during this. So, if nothing else, I think the implementation of this is bad for business.

FLASHBACK!!!!!

Seal of Nature breaks as Viravain tries to turn Glomdoring back to Gloriana and EVERYONE dies.... EVERYONE...

Then Estarra tries to remove Kethuru from the tapestry and everyone takes damage each attempt... (it hurt!)... death ensues!

Possessed Viravain goes romping around the basin and the villages revolt constantly.....

Then come the eye balls and tongues... dear lord the eyeballs and tongues!

This.... is..... nothing.... Sit back, relax and just have fun with it!

Shouldn't that utterly annihilate the biosphere and slowly but surely kill off the world because of mass bug death, among other things? :science:

And Lusternia events is all about killing everyone as much as possible. This is true for novices too. An... unfortunate side-effect.
Rivius2010-12-16 16:47:51
Since the fires are done and everyone's infected, this event is more or less only just a minor annoyance to me now. What sort of bothers me is I've seen a novice from Hallifax getting torn apart by these crabs over and over on death sight. I really, really think if you're that small, the innocence should protect you. I fear you might discourage a few novices who don't know better and think these crabs are common place and that the game is just "way too hard".

While I understand wanting to include them in the event, I think you really should leave that up to them.
Fain2010-12-16 16:59:21
They don't attack the under 25s.
