With constructs no longer costing power, I am wondering what the use of auronidion or auronispheres will be. Right now, you can sell the spheres to facility gnomes, or else use them as the basin's most extravagant power stones. These are both pretty wasteful. You can buy powerstones readily for less than 2k, and a 25k profit for 80+ trade goods (particles in this case) is a deal that most traders would pass up.

Way back with weakenings, orgs used the particles collected either to sell and split the gold among those who assisted, or else traded for spheres to pre-power their constructs. My org has never gone the gold route, but from what I've heard from others, it always caused problems. There's a delay between the time particles are gathered and the time the trading is done, particularly if you're looking to maximize the amount of spheres you buy, which causes problems with both remembering and catching up with the people who contributed later. I always heard a lot of accusations of people knowingly or unknowingly 'forgetting' to turn in their particles, and there were also issues of entitlement depending on time spent (I was here for the whole hour - why should I get the same as him, he was here five minutes?!).

So for fear of dealing with all that, and despite the fact that free gold is obviously better than no gold, I am hoping that they could once again have a tertiary use.

Could they...
--be put into the nexus for a bit of power ~500 (Consider they were basically worth up to 600p when they were powering constructs.)
--be used to power colossus (a substitute for golden hearts)
--provide a bonus to colossus health/speed
--all of these?

Any other thoughts/suggestions?

In Serenwilde, back in the day, we solved the 'gold problem' by buying particles at a set price. You're here for more of the weakening, focus longer, you sell more particles. We'd buy them at 25 per, if I remember right, and the pilot/empath would make a handsome little sum for their effort (Again, back when there were, like, five serens who knew how to trade). The only problems we ever ran into was when an empath wanted something closer to real value for their particles


But, uh, yeah. Something to use them for would be nice. The power idea sounds good to me, at least as a starting measure.

I think just using the spheres for nexus power would be great. Either that or you could insert them into the constructs and it would increase the amount of power the construct contributed to the nexus that weave (or for the ones that don't contribute power, will cause them to contribute power).
