Accurate! This ending proved to the world that there is a disturbing number of people in the world who don't actually understand the concept of having something be intentionally ambiguous, and instead having huge arguments about whether X or Y actually occurred when, guys, it's not like the director just forgot to tell you or something. It's a story, not a puzzle.
