Actually, "Vernal God" means "Youthful or Young God," as contrasted with the Elder Gods, who are decidedly not youthful or young, even if they want you to think they are-- I'm looking at you, Lyreth.

Vernal Gods were linked directly onto the Immanidivinus, the same source of power that Elder Gods use. Vernal Ascendants are only linked to the Domotheos Realms, thanks to the rift made by Ayridion.

"God of the People"
That sounds very Marxist.

I wonder what this means for you, being a Hallifaxian God that isn't "Of the People".
Because let's pretend Hallifax is Marxist as everyone assumes.
Lendren2011-01-15 14:45:18
It's only not very Marxist because nobody really has a "means of production" thanks to the fact that, even though you know how to make paper from wood, you don't know how to make wood from trees, etc. But in some ways Hallifax is more communist than any communist regime in the real world ever was.
Elostian2011-01-15 14:56:15
At the risk of having to chastise myself for derailing, how do you see this?
Lendren2011-01-15 16:16:11
Every real world communist regime has been defined by corruption and abuse of power. It has only shown the appearance of egalitarianism, but in practice, where you could end up in society had very little to do with your own temperaments and talents, and almost everything to do with the circumstances of your birth. In Hallifax, you actually can find the spot where you fit into the overarching structure, where you benefit it and it benefits you. This is possible for several reasons. 1) Hallifax is vastly smaller than any real regime; it's possible to know everyone in it, and thus, it's possible to move within it because other people know you. In a real-world communist regime, it's too easy to be stuck in one spot because the only people you interact with are people in your own caste. 2) The people in Hallifax, by and large, play like they really believe Hallifax's principles. Incidents of people just mouthing the words while trying to twist it for their own benefit are the exception, not the rule. 3) Hallifax, being fictional, doesn't have to deal with messy realities of allocation of resources, or scarcities. 4) We can very conveniently dump most of the really awful parts of such a system, that fall onto the lowest castes, onto invisible NPCs and the occasional denizen. No one plays the lowest rungs unless they want to, and those who do always know they can get out of it whenever they want. We don't have to reflect the idea that for everyone on one rung, there has to be many more on the next lower rung, because we can pad out our pyramid scheme of privilege with imaginary people. And even CR1 people are still "middle class" at the worst. No player ever has to bear the bad side of the burden of this societal structure.

Also, lip service to the topic of the thread-
I've always thought Wuylinfe was a cool name. Its rather unique! You shouldn't want to change it.
