Xiel, How would a seal work on a newspost? For one thing, News isn't anonymous since the system verifies the person sending it (or disallows contact based on memebership), as opposed to books and letters which need an ID to determine its validity. Plus, how would you view the seal in a system that doesn't support it?

I'm more thinking the seal would take the place of those little ascii pictures that annoy me (pet peeve of mine) of like, paw prints and flying dragons. And seals are hardly anonymous either, considering the designs are all public for them (at least, I'm pretty sure they're public since I think I recall reading they're not tied to any one cartel), so they won't be hiding anyone's use.

And why not just stamp the end after you hit save on the post? I mean, isn't that how the seals are used now with the letter? You write the letter first then stamp it after?

And no clue about what you mean by viewing. It all pops up as text at the end of the document, no?

Has anyone seen how long stationary lasts compared to basic letters? The changes seem really cool, but I really liked my never decaying letters.

I do have one question about the modular origami, that heralds back to concerns I had with books. Is there any way title an origami, even if it is just the modular origami? Since packs is an obvious use of this new skill, it'd be nice to be able to see what kind of pack it is by the title. It might be different if one could probe it, but I appreciate the inability to do that, so I'm not complaining in that regard. Essentially, something where, when I'm in a shop with two different kinds of packs, I don't have to guess which is which based on the style(which is currently just the one)or the price(which can change depending on discounts or markups). And if the same could be done for books at some point, that'd be awesome.

I don't recall having seen this in any of the above, or in AB BOOKBINDING STAMP, but upon stamping any of the stampable items, might I correctly assume that the item can no longer be edited, that is, it is SEALED with no way to ever UNSEAL it? If not, that makes the whole stamp thing less reliable.

Modular origami cannot replace packs. Once you close it, you cannot add more to it, or get anything out. Until you close it, it isn't preserving its contents. Once you open it, everything comes out and the origami is gone. And stockrooms won't preserve it. It's intended entirely as a single-use package for things like novice starter kits and deliveries.

Right. I misspoke. I meant more as in novice packs, or grouping items together. Instead of selling a bunch of similar items separately, you might make a kit for pretty much anything. Anything from a full tailored outfit, already put together for you by someone with a better taste of style, to a sampling of herbs or commodities. Or a smoker's kit, containing a few herbs, a pipe, and a tinderbox. These are primitive ideas, but hopefully you understand what I meant misspoke and called it a pack.

You probably wouldn't want to do that, though, since the origami will decay in your stockroom.

The real question is... if it does, does the stuff inside it -poof- or does it tumble out? If so, you might as well do it as long as you're prepared to rebundle it every so often (and don't make too many kits at once).

Is there a reason why letter preservation was removed? Would it be possible to add it in as another skill in bookbinding (costs 10 magicink or something) if it wouldn't be impossible to code?

If you want to store stuff on something that won't decay - buy a scroll/parchment/book!

But preserved letters made the most convenient containers! Who needs a bag when you can preserve a few letters and keep things in there?

Actually, it occurs to me that if a pattern that had "package", "pack", "kit", or some combination of them as the main nouns were created, then that'd be another thing to design for. There could be a public "novice kit" modularorigami, and the individual guilds could have designs personalized for their novices if they desired, instead of titling. Additionally, going back to the whole tea kit, smoker's kit thing I mentioned, merchants might have inspiration to let slip a few coin to a cartel to make a design customized for them. Of course, a tint or two might be needed commodity wise, if there is to be writing on the side of the origami, as blasphemous as that would be.
