From the IRE mapping script project:
Can I see support for a "glide" syntax? It comes from a psymet's gliding ability (also works on water). Is this something I could code in there, or would I have to wait for the next update?
Also would LOVE to see some support for flying. Like, prefers flying before move and knows when to land due to "inside" rooms. Though, not sure there's anything that would re-command when to fly again. Meh, maybe that second part comes down to player discretion. BUT all in all, an idea just the same.
CODE
goto sprint/dash/gallop - goes to a place, sprinting, dashing or galloping whenever possible

Has anyone done the custom parry/stance calculations that can lend me a hand?
Saku2011-08-23 22:40:53
What is the difference between all the system? Such as M&m vs AG for mush?
Lilija2011-08-23 23:08:18
Support, frequency of updates, ease of installation, portability across multiple operating systems.
Vadi has done an excellent job with all of that. The only issue I have with m&m is that I have yet to figure out a good stance/parry strategy, but that's more my fault than the system's. AG I paid my credits and messed around with briefly, and can't really give any sort of review for it.

All this except the last bit. Only other system I've ever used is Treant, but not even that long after I got sick of mush. The documentation is really helpful in showing how to customize the system to fit your needs and allowing you to change it around based on your opponent for solo fights or just bashing.

I have had a lot of experience with AG. Ethelon is good with the guest service and he has a clan that is active, and secret so people can't see your name when you are asking questions which is nice. The system itself was very good, I never had any problems with it, and Ethelon is still actively adding to it, bugs were promptly fixed, I used it since he had it in beta until just recently. The only reason I switched to using Vadi's system is because I heard Mudlet was easier to code and play with which is true from what I've found. There is some really cool stuff that m&m does, I'm in love with the mudlet map but that may be because I've never had anything like it before. I also think m&m is faster than AG. AG has more offensive things added in for his system, but I sometimes had a hard time finding out the different sytanxes, the documentation wasn't ever complete if I remember correctly, but again the clan was very nice in helping with that. I really enjoyed AG for a long time, and if you like MUSH it's a nice system and cheaper than m&m.
I haven't used m&m much yet in combat but I hear nothing but raves from people who have used it and from my limited testing I was a beast that couldn't die, though that could be because I just hit demigod and have about 2000 more health, and I wasn't fighting any super seasoned fighters. I know it has done me well so far though. I will say that it's been well worth the 80 credits for me to be able to more easily add stuff. I felt like I needed to be more seasoned to add stuff in MUSH it feels a lot easier in Mudlet. Also I like that healing abilities can be used in m&m I can't forget that, I'm loving that, and the def keepup for some things, easily being able to switch between which defences I Want to make sure are kept up when fighting different classes.

Does it make Pvp any easier when it comes to attacking? Or would you have to manually add in information for that?
Lilia2011-08-25 03:01:14
It provides a lot of tools that make building your offensive system -so- much easier than starting from scratch. I've had m&m since beta, and I'm still discovering cool new ways to use it.

To add on:
It's a better idea imo to provide tools to assist in building offensive aliases, triggers, etc then providing said aliases, triggers, etc in the system since then everyone of a class would have the exact same offense. My offense is very specialized for me, since I fight in a way no other Aquamancer does, but certain parts of my offense would not be possible if it weren't for the tools provided by the system. The most that the system provides in way of assisting with bashing or pvp in terms of attacking is an attack repeat keybinding.

This.
To add, coding offense is approximately 100 times easier for me than coding healing, since you can leave a good part of it to your own reflexes and keystrokes if you aren't obsessed with just hitting one button and having that choose your entire offense like some people do. More fun that way for me too! All you have to do is just map some easy-to-remember aliases and macros that you use often, and code little shortcuts to cut down on your typing time on more exotic, spur-of-the-moment moves.

I'm in agreement as well and that's why there's nothing pre-built in m&m. It's part of the fun, it's not hard to do, and everyone would find things that suit them best.

I am trying to update m&m (and doing it as I normally do; following the directions given in the email to a T), but it keeps saying that m&m is already imported. This is leaving me with no system at all and I have no idea how to fix this :/.
update: apparently you cannot just delete the triggers/aliases/scripts/keys/buttons anymore > click on package manager at the top, highlight "m&m (import me)" and click uninstall. That solves the problem, if you're an r-tard like me
thank you ardmore for your help.

Updated, and coincidentally my Mudlet Mapper isn't working any more. Here is an example of what looks wrong:
Mudlet scripts seem to work, but the map doesn't seem to be there (even when I open the map tool). Anyone know how I remedy this?
