As I recall it was a buggy deathsight.

I really don't think players would want to suddenly have polyhedrons not only assisting as-is, but pulling off timequakes. Or Supernals using Judgment.
Or Trueheal.
Maybe I am wrong in that, but I think if PvE was akin to combat, people would find bashing impossibly hard without a full-fledged combat system (and, as a result, become hugely uninteresting to 80% of players). Would people really enjoy aetherbashing if the denizens started behaving like ships?

No, needing a combat system for all PVE would be annoying as hec. Most likely would turn away new players before they even gave the game a chance. However, there might just be a place where PVE crits and no-brain bashing, system (snoozing) handling are set aside for real PVP tactics... perhaps for the occasional mini-boss or dungeon boss. Hec, maybe even for a limited event.

I agree with the Muud sentiments. If there ever was a dungeon trapped feeling it can be found in Muud. Domoth realms too, kinda, for the stage 3 single person fighting in a small area.

I believe this is what the actual suggestion is.
In terms of a quest a dungeon might involve.
Fighting through random encounters in the dungeon.
Solving some puzzles that result in varying (sometimes permanent) rewards.
Gaining access to the boss fight(either by being able to physically access to boss room or by being able to actually participate in the fight).
Completing the boss fight allows access to further areas within the dungeon.
Permanent shortcuts can be opened for those who have worked their way through the dungeon and there can be fluff in there that doesn't matter to the "main" quest but may be side quests or may have relevance to issues faced earlier or later. ("Oh, this item/knowledge is what I need to defeat that creature I could not pass up on the very first floor")

As it is, there are already quite a few areas that are locked off for bashing because you dared to play a merian Celestine, instead of a Loboshigaru knight. At least creating a lock down based upon needing a system would allow you to one day conquer it, instead of forcing reincarnation and class change to hunt there.
