Votecount:
Anumi - 1 (Othero)
Othero - 4 (Gleip, Anumi, Vendetta Morendo, Casilu)

With 7 alive, that's a lynch! And just in time for the deadline, too!

Confused and suspicious of Othero's heretofore unknown ability to kill people with sinuous, slinky bottleneck guitar, the rest of the town resolves to kill him. "This... is... the... eeeeeend..." he croons as he's lynched from the nearest tree.

Othero was THE DOORS.

"Into this house we're born, into this world we're thrown: like a dog without a bone, an actor out on loan; riders on the storm."

Psychadelic maestros of jazz and blues inflected rock, you're best known for your devilish and incendiary frontman Jim Morrison, one of the most iconic rock and roll frontmen of all time.

Abilities:
THE UNKNOWN SOLDIER - Preeeeeeeeesent arrrrms! Once a game (during the daytime) you can choose to EXECUTE any one player you choose. This will not end the day.

You win with the town.

Goodbye, Day Three, and hola Night Three.

Another two bodies surface this morning - one a headless, smoking husk, victim of a hideously distorted guitar solo; the second covered in multitudinous razorblade wounds, with a discarded Nintendo power glove lying next to it... which is particularly curious, since they haven't been invented yet.

The former is Vendetta Morendo, a.k.a. BOB DYLAN.

"Tell ya what, I would not feel so all alone... Eeeverybody must get stoned!"

Hey, Mr Tambourine Man. One of the biggest icons of the sixties, you gained fame (and notoriety, in the eyes of the government) for your reluctant mantle as a spokesperson for the anti-Vietnam movement. Quite apart from that, though, you're one of the most enduring faces in popular music, with a career spanning decades.

Abilities:
MR TAMBOURINE MAN - You have no one to meet, and this ancient empty street's too dead for dreaming, so every night you can instead choose to follow any player of your choice to SNOOP on their actions. In the jingle-jangle mornin' you'll come foll-o-wiiing them.

You win with the town.

The latter is Gleip, also known as OTIS REDDING.

"I got sunshine on a clou-dy day; and when it's cold outside, I got the month of May."

One of the most soulful singers of all time, you have a unique voice capable of conveying intense emotion. You're known for performing hits from "Respect" to "Love Man".

Abilities:
CHAINED AND BOUND - Unfortunately, you can't focus on using your abilities to their full potential as you're too busy writing (exquisite!) ballads for your girlfriend. Every new day, there's a small chance you'll stumble across one of two abilities.
RESPECT - You've been dumped by your girl, when all you was askin' was a little respect when you got home - ooh, yeah. Rather than get down, though, you've decided to channel your anger towards constructive ends. If the resident investigator dies, you assume his role, and become capable of SNOOPING on any one player per night.

You win with the town.

And since there's only four players left and two are Mafia, I think we can safely call this a victory for them. MAFIA VICTORY AHOY!
Diamondais2011-01-25 15:57:57
Damn, I was hoping I'd hit a mafia tonight so I could win. sad.gif
Anumi2011-01-25 16:02:32
That was just way too much night-killing. We didn't really have much room to mis-lynch. Even though we got scum once out of three, it wasn't enough :/ Seems like a hard setup... oh well.

Nicely done, you scum!
Ssaliss2011-01-25 16:04:15
Yeah, it'll be interesting to see all the powers smile.gif
Jack2011-01-25 16:09:06
The remaining roles:

Casilu was MUSE.

"Whatever they say, these people are torn: wild and bereft, assassin is born."
A progressive stadium rock band popularized in the 2000's, you're known for the intricate guitar-work of frontman Matt Bellamy and your strange, sci-fi fixated subject matter. Your obsession with science is why you're here in the 1960s - unlike the rest of the mafia (who want to kill these 60's icons and usher in a golden age of anarchic, ruleless noise-rock), you're just happy to be time travelling. Nerd.
Abilities:
MAFIA - As a member of the resident musical mafia, you can communicate with Godfather The Dead Kennedys (Furien) and fellow mafioso Slipknot (Caerulo) at night via PM to discuss strategy.
INVINCIBLE - Due to Matt Bellamy's insomnia, any attempts to nightkill you will be deflected by a thundering, tremolo-picked guitar solo. Your soul's unbreakable.
BLEED FOR ME - As The Dead Kennedys have bitten the dust, the ability to kill one player a night has defaulted to you.
You win with the mafia.

Caerulo was SLIPKNOT.

"Let me tell you how it's gonna be: I'm gonna KILL ANYONE WHO STEPS UP IN FRONT OF ME!"
You are a heavy metal band from Iowa. More to the point, you're a heavy metal band from Iowa in the 1990s. You're here in the age of whiny hippies - as are the rest of your crew - to wipe 'em off the face off the map early. You want a golden age of punk and metal, and nothing's going to stop you.
Abilities:
MAFIA - As a member of the resident musical mafia, you can communicate with Godfather The Dead Kennedys (Furien) and fellow mafioso Muse (Casilu) at night via PM to discuss strategy.
SURFACING - Picking through parts exposed, you can make your way to one player a night and roleblock any ability they attempt to activate.
You win with the mafia.

Anumi was THE WHO!

"People try to put us d-d-down, just because we get around..."
Pioneers of stadium rock and auto-destruction, you're known for your energetic (and often anarchic) live performances - particularly the manic energy of your drummer, Keith "the loon" Moon.
Abilities:
WHISKEY MAN - Whiskey man's your friend. He's with you nearly all the time. By which I mean "your drummer's a frigging alcoholic, seek help!" On the upside, his propensity to drag you out to all-night bars means you have a 50% chance of avoiding any nightkill: on the downside, his alcohol-fuelled belligerence means you have a 50% chance of being pegged as scum if investigated. This ability is passive.
You win with the town.

Diamondais was MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE.

"There's a place in the dark where the animals go, you can take off your skin in the cannibal glow."
You know a thing about contrition, because you've got enough to spare. Though you have a lingering respect for the music of the sixties, you've travelled back in time in an attempt to wipe them all out - and the resident mafia with them. Why? Well, all those years of people bashing you as pretentious and emo has really messed with your mind.
Abilities:
BLACK DRAGON FIGHTING SOCIETY - Yeah, you drink juice when you're killing 'cause it's fuckin' delicious. Once a night, you can kill any one player of your choice.
PARTY POISON - A sore loser, you've hooked yourself up to a bomb to ensure any scumbag trying to kill you will feel your wrath upon death. Everybody hit the pyro cue!
THANK YOU FOR THE VENOM - They're running after something that they'll never kill. Any investigator trying to pry into you will perceive you as an ordinary townie.
You win with yourself, and triumph when you are the last player standing.

Miscellaneous crap: that was a pretty fun game to watch from the inside! The town got lucky picking off Furien early; but Casilu capitalized very well by bandwagon voting her own team mate, putting her beyond apparent reproach. Past a certain point it was obvious the Mafia were going to win, due to Casilu's clever playing: not only did the town intrinsically trust her, but the fact she was nightkill immune meant Diamondais, the resident SK, couldn't have picked her off if she'd wanted to, leaving her, essentially, lynch and nightkill proof. Looking back, it seems obvious that the serial killer was very overpowered, but I honestly didn't expect them to last as long: I envisioned a night or two of killing, then a lynch, then the bomb goin' off to much surprise - not for her to slip through the cracks the entire game! I did make a concession to the town in the form of a backup cop (Gleip as Otis Redding), but that remained untapped due to the Mafia leaving Vendetta alive (but roleblocked) till the very end - eerily prescient of them! I don't think the town played especially well themselves, their big triumph of the game (lynching godfather Furien) the work of a combination of luck and a standout player in Vendetta. I still hope you all had fun with it, though!
Diamondais2011-01-25 16:12:18
Yeah, I was really surprised to not have gotten any attention drawn to me, despite being far more active and aggressive than I usually am. laugh.gif
Unknown2011-01-25 16:54:47
Yeah, town did pretty poorly this game. I don't mind, though, as hopefully this served a valuable lesson: sitting back and waiting for something to really draw you doesn't work if you have deadlines. That's fine for games where play to win can let you stretch out the game and turn it into a bore-fest - not so here.

I don't feel like I did really well here either, but then, I'm the type who's won most of my games by being relatively lurky. Something I'm still working on changing.

Because I enjoyed them, I will now share all my Night PM results with you!

QUOTE
Lurking in Furien's doorway, you witness her discussing something urgently with two other shadowy figures: one wearing a twisted mask and one clad in a strange, futuristic outfit. "Alright, so it's decided," Furien declares (with a distinctive lisp), "Romertien is the target. I'll deal with him."

QUOTE
Before you're able to snoop on BroadwayBlueShirt, you find the way out of your room blocked by a muscular man in a mask. "Not tonight, honey." he croons in a guttural voice, punching you full force in the head. You awake the next morning with a distinct headache, but no new information.

QUOTE
Just as you're preparing to tail Caerulo, a rapping begins at your door. Opening it, you're confronted with a huge number of amplifiers, stacked so high that they block the corridor. "What the he-" are the last thoughts you have before an absurdly loud tremolo-picked guitar solo rockets out at max volume. Your head explodes, leaving only a smouldering stump behind - testament to the awesome power of rawk.

It was a pretty fun game for me too, although I mostly played only one Day, seeing as I was gone for the most of Day One and Two.

I honestly expected Gleip to be SK, although I guess I was wrong. I thought that the real SK would have avoided killing Gleip to provide further confusion as to the identity of the SK, but turned out I was wrong on that too.

However, we were expecting a cop within the group, and not the tracker power Vendetta had.

Honestly, I thought Gleip was Mafia, I was hoping to keep the game going for one more day so I'd have a chance to win. sad.gif

I guessed wrong though, but nice to see the Mafia win.

Now that the Night/game has ended, I can finally go to sleep. happy.gif
Unknown2011-01-25 17:41:55
Apologies for my poor performance. I hope to do better in the future. I was right on Caerulo but was completely duped into thinking Othero was scum. Hindsight being what it is if I thought Caerulo was scum I should have pushed for a lynch on him.
Casilu2011-01-25 18:00:39
I love the smell of mafia in the morning. It smells like... Victory.
Anumi2011-01-25 18:41:13
Wow so, at least I was the last townie left alive? tongue.gif I figured for sure, with my powers, that I'd be pegged as scum, both because of the investigation-muddling and because I might not get killed at night.

At least I was right about Caerulo smile.gif But I got caught up on Othero for whatever reason.

Feel like I kinda sucked as town, but I did miss a lot of it at the beginning from being away for the long weekend. And I haven't done it in a while.

But, thanks to Jack for running it, it was fun! And CURSE YOU MAFIA!!!!!
Tekora2011-01-25 18:41:20
Can we get a full list of actions? I want to know if it was Ileein that killed me, since this game has about double the nightkillers I originally thought it had.

That was me.
Ileein2011-01-25 22:12:09
I never had a chance to use my kill, alas.
Gleip2011-01-25 22:15:08
What? You thought I was mafia over Caerulo? What on earth made you think that?

And yeah, Othero killing of Beatles really screwed us over. If he hadn't done that, I'd have gone for Caerulo. Oh well, this is what I get for not paying as close attention as I should.

And let it be said, Jack is awesome in PMs.

Actually, he's awesome in general.
