To clarify twice over: yes, a scum team would want to end this as quickly as possible, and on any other day but day 1 we'd be against that notion, but stalling here just has no benefit.
Mirami2011-01-16 19:18:15
From what I've seen playing with Othero in the last two games, he tends to be aggressive, but apparently (as noted before) likes to play not-aggressive? I'm not so comfortable with anybody taking quite such an aggressive tone early on, especially when there's absolutely no evidence to back any sort of vote up.
If there were any sort of evidence-- any at all-- I'd be more comfortable with highly aggressive tactics, as they actually make things happen. As it stands, though, it seems overly confrontational for a point in the game at which nobody knows anything useful (Or if they do, they're scum/tracker/roleblocker and shouldn't want to reveal for various reasons).

Unvote; Vote: Ssaliss
The reasons have already been stated why No Lynch is bad, not to mention the scum have a fairly good chance of picking off townies which could easily be our key roles (investigator, roleblocker, doctor) if we have them.
Yes, we take a risk when we vote for someone and lynch them. As stated before, we would at least have some information to go off of.
Some of the scum tend to stay quieter during the day, it's usually a more newbie tactic but staying quiet definitely has its perks because it means you are less seen.
If going for anyone, go for someone who makes a terrible suggestion (such as No Lynch) or someone who barely talks or contributes to the daily discussions.
(Also, I am back, I stayed over somewhere that doesn't have internet last night)

Well... the main point of me posting about no lynching was generally to get people to talking, so... mission accomplished, I suppose? I had expected someone to take the ruse and back me up on the no-lynch after I made my posts though, but no such luck
I have made one observation though: Gleip is generally a very aggressive player. Personally, I think the only reason he was so "mellow" during the last game (aside from day 1) was because he was Harry, so he shouldn't draw attention to himself. Which begs the question; why is he so quiet this time around? It's been a full day and then some since my first post about the no lynch, and he hasn't made a single post. Is he trying to lay low this round as well?
Oh, and regarding the people commenting about my no lynch posts... The oddest comment so far has been Tekoras, I think. He made a single post in the beginning voting for me because I was the first one to mention it, but hasn't joined in the discussion at all since then. At least Othero argued back with me, and Ileein and I had a civil conversation about it.
Perhaps just oddities, but they're the ones that stood out the most to me.

Metagame-based speculation is inherently unreliable because someone can change their metagame and attitude at a moment's notice.
If it bothers you that much you might as well say - hey, Gleip, talk more! I don't trust you! Or something along those lines.

Diamondais2011-01-16 19:36:03
Would've certainly drawn less attention to him if he had done that rather than what he did.
Ssaliss2011-01-16 19:38:13
Ah, but I wouldn't have known about Gleip not speaking (or any of the other arguments) if I hadn't made my posts. The posts were aimed at starting a discussion; I had expected Gleip to join in, and he didn't. If I had prompted him to speak, it's possible we would've had another situation where he started speaking basically because we told him to start speaking. By doing it this way, however, there's a clear (at least to me) difference in his actions this round compared to the previous rounds, which is what is interesting.
Ssaliss2011-01-16 19:39:17
Oh, and to clarify; I wasn't aiming at anyone in particular. The point about Gleip not speaking is something that came out of the last 24 hours, and wasn't on my mind before I made my posts. Someone not speaking because no one else is speaking is hardly odd behavior.
Casilu2011-01-16 19:49:35
He might be off somewhere, doing something. It IS the weekend afterall and some people have more of a life than Lusternia.
Ssaliss2011-01-16 19:52:36
Yeah, I know. Which is the reason I didn't vote for him (or anyone else, yet).

I am not familiar with the personalities of any of the players. Research tells me that voting no lynch is usually considered a scum tell or at least a not well thought out idea. So, time to change my vote.

So... you're voting for me for getting people to talk? I already explained that I have no intention of pushing for a no lynch, nor was it ever my intention.

Votecount!
Caerulo - 1 (AllergictoSabres)
Diamondais - 1 (Casilu)
Othero - 1 (Romertien)
Ssaliss - 4 (Tekora, Othero, Diamondais, BroadwayBlueShirt)
With 14 alive, it's 8 to lynch.
Predictably, Day One is stretching a little. There'll be a deadline in approximately 8 hours, since I'm not looking for one of those godawful games where one IG day becomes five RL ones!

Ok, no lynch is definitely a scum tell. I'd be willing to overlook that in a first-time player, but Ssaliss has played a few times before, and thus VOTE: Ssaliss.
Casilu2011-01-17 06:03:15
Vote: Ssaliss so we get a lynch on the deadline. Just in case Jack uses the complete random system.
Unknown2011-01-17 08:31:41
Hrm. Well, this is gonna go through no matter what now since there's like four hours left or something. I'll feel bad if he was town since then he really was just trying to get that horrid day 1 conversation going, but going the way of no lynch isn't a valid suggestion, either.
On another note, you been busy, Casi? You're unnaturally quiet so far this game.

Also wanted to add I'm not a fan of an eight hour deadline window warning. With time zones, work schedules, and life being different for all of us, that can put someone in a position to not be able to defend themselves in time. Maybe at the start of each day just say deadline in 48 hours or something, and if you feel the conversation is lively enough, extend it if need be.

I hate Day starts (probably why I use them exclusively). Also, I had the fun of house-cleaning this weekend. Woo.
Ssaliss2011-01-17 10:55:11
And, just to prove I'm not town, I'll tell you in advance that I have the power to turn day into night without a lynch. Strange power for a town to have, which is why I never intend to use it. The fact that it's still day means that I never intended the no-lynch to start with.
Ssaliss2011-01-17 10:56:08
And yeah, eight hours is a bit short... Went to bed and wake up with two hours left of the day
