Nah you weren't. But there was a role there who three times during the day could move Night into Day, allowing town to skip nights completely.
Ssaliss2011-01-17 18:28:19
Still no end of the day? Hmm. Had I known the deadline would go for five hours above the stated, I would've played it differently.

Not that it would've mattered, of course.
Ileein2011-01-17 18:44:15
I think it's technically Twilight now, since the deadline's hit but the mod hasn't gotten around to close the day, so we get to talk but not change votes. Fun.
Ssaliss2011-01-17 18:46:51
Huh. Ah well, either way, it's not as if I can convince everyone to unvote anyway. But yeah, I wasn't fibbing about being town or my powers. And I really was just trying to start a conversation (that ended in a disaster when the deadline hit, more or less). Ah well; lose some, win some. Next game someone else will have to poke their head up first tongue.gif
Unknown2011-01-17 19:33:55
Why didn't you use that power to save yourself? If your town you would of at least kept the town from killing a townie by forcing it right to night and skipping the rest of day. We then would of had more stuff to talk about and you could of gotten out of being lynched.
Casilu2011-01-17 19:35:39
Casilu survival tip for day one: Don't censor.gif-ing talk unless something REALLY important comes up or you see a chance to catch someone in a classic tell or if you're worried if your own survival might be in question by the end of the day. suspicious.gif

Me using that power would've very likely resulting in an insta-lynch. After all, that is a very scummy power that town has very little use of. I'm guessing the next day would've been over within 24 hours. I contemplated it, but the end results would've been the same anyway, and town would've missed on a better lynch next day.

I don't really view the ability to change day to night as a useful ability for the town, it just doesn't help us as much as it does scum. Sure, if we have an investigator/jailer/roleblocker/doctor/etc. they'd be able to operate, but that's usually only a smaller part of the town (unless this is one of those games where everyone has a power).

For purposes of mod-y clarification, it is indeed such a game. There are no vanilla roles! (And my apologies in advance for the deadline delay, which should've occurred about six hours ago. Staying awake all night + early lectures at uni = crashing out mid-afternoon.)

Votecount:
Othero - 1 (Romertien)
Ssaliss - 7 (Tekora, Othero, Diamondais, BroadwayBlueShirt, Ileein, Casilu, AllergictoSabres)

With 14 alive, it's 8 to lynch. (Can't you guys count?!) Which is irrelevant at this point, as a deadline has hit. No lynch for day one!
Ssaliss is lynched: look below for details.

It is now NIGHT ONE. You have roughly 24 hours to send in either your night actions, or a declaration that you aren't using them.

Yeah. I just really dislike no one talking. Makes me all fidgety.
Ssaliss2011-01-17 19:38:19
How was it not a lynch?

QUOTE
I reserve the right to call a deadline at any time if a day is taking too long. At deadline, the player with most votes will be lynched. In case of a tie, no one will be lynched.

Mind you, I'm not complaining, but...

How was it not a lynch?

Oh, man, today's messed me up more than I thought. laugh.gif COMMENCE FLAVOUR TEXT!

Surrounded by an increasingly large crowd of torch-wielding icons, Ssaliss does his best to backtrack. "Come on, guys, it wasn't like I was pushing for no lynch! I was just, you know, suggesting it." he pleads, backing into a wall. Just as all hope seems lost, a clock chimes! The day is over! There's no chance to lynch him! But as the crowd begins to disperse, Ssaliss consults a rulebook and says "uh, actually, you still have a chance to kill m-" - he doesn't get to finish his sentence, as a fragment of flying guitar shrapnel lodges into his throat, killing him instantly.

Ssaliss was The Beach Boys!

"Been drinkin' all night, got into a fight. Well, I feel so broke up I wanna go home."

You're the upbeat purveyors of surf rock from California. At one point big enough to challenge the Beatles for supremacy, your crowning achievement is the album 'Pet Sounds', which included mega-hits like Wouldn't It Be Nice.

Abilities:
I'M WAITING FOR THE DAY - Twice during the game, you can force nighttime and avoid the unnecessary violence of a lynch by posting "I'm waiting for the day when you can love again"... hippie.

You win with the town.
Jack2011-01-19 08:51:30
Arright, I theenk enough time's elapsed that I can assume those that didn't send in night actions aren't opting to use their abilities, so NIGHT ONE is over!

Waking up in the morning, the town is collectively horrified to discover two dead bodies: one efficiently throttled, the other twisted, sliced and burned with obvious sadistic glee.

The former is Romertien, and he was THE ROLLING STONES.

"I see the girls walk by dressed in their summer clothes, I hafta turn my head until my darkness goes."
One of the biggest bands in the history of rock and roll, you attained mainstream and critical acclaim at home and abroad for your cocky, bluesy style.

Abilities:
RIP THIS JOINT! - Sometimes it's nice to get down low. Once a night, you can RIP THE JOINT of any other player, resulting in an all-night party at their pad that stops them from taking any action that night.
STRANGE BEDFELLOWS - Despite your very different styles, you can communicate with fellow British invasion group BLANK at night via PM.
You win with the town.

The latter is AllergictoSabers, and he was CAPTAIN BEEFHEART.

"STRAWWOOD CLAW! RATTLIN MY JAW!"
One of the strangest and most divisive figures in the music of the 1960s, you're revered by modern artists ranging from Tom Waits to the White Stripes. Your 'masterpiece' (opinions vary!) is Trout Mask Replica, arguably the record that invented alternative rock and opened the doors to punk, grunge, and every iteration thereafter. One thing's sure - you're totally nuts. Complete whackjob.

Abilities:
SAFE AS MILK - LUSTY ALLEY WHININ' TRASHCAN BLUES! Your idea of 'safe' involves strapping yourself to a bomb, designed to explode and take anyone who lynches you down. (Whackjob.)
You win with the town.

So NIGHT ONE is over and DAY TWO has begun. Get yakkin'.
Unknown2011-01-19 09:13:43
Okay. Um, hmm. Anyone else super confused now?
Diamondais2011-01-19 09:51:10
A bit, yeah, I need to wake up more before I can go back and look at the thread.
Ileein2011-01-19 11:56:10
Looks like we've got a SK or other form of rogue nightkill. What fun.

I wanted to stick my head in confirming that I'm here. I got a 3-day weekend and so I'm kinda away from computer til tomorrow.

This deadline saddens me for that reason. I too find pushing for a No-lynch weird but I don't know. AllergicToScabies gets a suspicion for (if I count right, putting Ssaliss at lynch-1, even if it is for a weird deadline.

So I'm here but will be more here tomorrow. I don't want to drop hammer on Ssaliss unless Jack is gonna be strict w this deadline (has everyone even checked in yet?) but agree that a lynch of someone who looks fishy is better for us than a nolynch, so I will if deadline holds.

Anumi? Did you act on your suspicion and kill AtS? Fess up or we'll force the answer out of you.
Anumi2011-01-19 15:50:51
No. I have no power to night-kill, and it was only a vague suspicion to begin with.

Not really seeing too much in voting/advocating patterns, sadly. I will note that Caerulo seemed to be advocating (though not very strongly) against Romertien, who we now know was town. And that Caerulo also defended Othero

So this might or might not mean anything, but if either of those two come up as scum it might indicate a connection. It's weak though.

Not really seeing too much else in Day One to point toward anyone though. I think I'll Vote: Caerulo just to get some discussion going.
Diamondais2011-01-19 16:13:29
And lets hope that if this progresses far enough, Caerulo doesn't clam up like he did last time.
Unknown2011-01-19 16:46:54
Not ready to vote yet but Anumi articulated my own thoughts pretty well.
Gleip2011-01-19 17:22:10
What's there to be confused about? Two kills yeah, so either a SK or a Vig. And if the flavour is something to go about, the SKer is a violent dude. Night 1 isn't supposed to automatically tell us who scum are.
