I don't see that as a hinderance myself. After all, Faeling and Trill parents can give birth to an Orclash, so the whole "racial" aspect is rather loose.

I hope the Trill is the female.

I took Ebonwing from Aellrya Ebonwing, the first Oberst of the Sentinel Company of Temporal Anomalies as signed on the contract:

Ebonwing is just a random family name, not a house. Technically, so is Clarramore, though they have produced quite a few 'prominents'. The real 'houses' are Eepex, Shevat, Taroch, Lars, Aalin, Oolin and Adom for the lucidians and Silverplume, Windwhisper, Skysoarer, Skywalker (or was it Cloudwalker? I always get those mixed up), Sunfar, Fairquillion and Goldfeather for trill. They're the families between which most power in traditional hallifax was shared and who produced most prominents.
Ileein2011-01-19 20:14:53
Cloudwalker.

I remember that name pretty well. sleep.gif She and I don't get along.

I believe Elostian was making a Star Wars joke. (One that I have made since Sylandra joined the Skyplumes >.> "Guys we should have been the Skywalkers. It would TOTALLY WORK and be hilarious.")

Judging by the galleries, Shevat would be primarily an artistic family, historically?

If so, seems to be the only Lucidian one, all the other galleries are owned by Trill families.

Seems like something you should find out in-game!

My impression has always been trill are inclined towards the arts, and lucidians towards science - but cross-overs happen!
Aerotan2011-01-19 21:30:17
Ugh, don't remind me. Still have bad images in my head from this Harry Potter/Indiana Jones thing I read once, and-oh, wait wrong sort of crossover.

More to the point, are there any Jojoban historical names as of yet? Or will they remain a mystery for all eternity?

In a hollow, echoing voice, The Temporal Conclave says, "Professor Nauta Shevat is no more. There is only the Conclave."

There was a trill hunter--one of those who gave us the Hunting skill way back, coming from a land that had tigers, who was known as Ironwing, and I think I've seen the surname for a few others.

I should point out that most of the names listed were submitted by one player, and some are more or less extrapolations--like "Bundy" (so basically we can be descended from Santa Claus?!?!) and Sweatpease (anybody want to be a sibling to Butter?)

I don't think the Trill Hunters were from Jojobo, but there was an Aslaran that did come at the same time, which gave Ecology as a specialization as a opposed to Tracking. Don't quite recall his name, but I'm betting it was in the event post if he had one.

Edit: From Event post 38

QUOTE
Two trill hunters, Aiella Ironwing and Viric Longfeather, tracked a pair of rabid tigers into the Basin. These white tigers had ravaged their village, killing their mates and children.

And:

QUOTE
About this time, a strange aslaran druid from outside the Basin named Mraxin, Keeper of the Dawn, appeared before the druids of Hartstone and Blacktalon.

Can't recall any other events though.

I'm pretty sure that the current galleries didn't belong to those families in old Hallifax. I think I remember Cririk just reassigning them to new Master Artists when the city reopened.

It's not really reasonable to assume that because one Shevat is a Master Artist with a gallery, then most of them must have been artistic. Especially since there are two Shevat scientist mobs in the city to the one artist.
Eventru2011-01-21 10:27:30
The Family Galleries in Hallifax are the same as they were at the fall of the empire - there was, then, a Shevat Gallery and is now. As I recall, Shalmae Silverplume invoked the rites of inheritence and she and a collection of Master Artists claimed their ancestral galleries.

Similarly, Ki'kia Zi'Prouep is a full artist under Lukun Shevat's patronage - one does not conclude, then, all Zi'Prouep are artists (since they're normally astrology-inclined scientists!)
