Well, it's unfortunate, but we can't really tell you what our "mystery group" does because it hasn't been activated yet. If you kill one of us, it'll take the other a while to even find the third one. And I do know that you probably want the group activated.

Yes, but even nicer would be knowing y'all are town.
Why did I use y'all?

A doubt it'll take awhile. Two of you have had no problem publicly claiming in the span of a few hours. I'm super nervous of just letting a group of people who openly claim they're a "special group" just run around without knowing for sure they're here to help us.
Sylandra2011-01-30 08:09:38
So Ileein. Why should we let you live then instead of Silferras? Clearly we should all lynch Silferras before he/she even logs on. Be real good sports about it.
But seriously, vote count? I know Shulamit had gotten a few her way before Silferras replaced her. Bit unfair to lynch before new person can say her/his piece.

Vote Count
Ileein (1) - Wuylinfe
Kiradawea (1) - Rika
Silferras (2) - Ssaliss, Casilu
With 13 persons left alive, it takes 7 votes to lynch.
This should be more or less accurate, though Casilu may or may not have intended a joke vote.

Either way it's far, far away from seven. Or a runaway majority vote.

Not Beatrice, not Beatrice! Uu-uu-uu! But Beatrice can open the door to the Golden Land, and there we will be resurrected and all live happily together! Love Mama, love Sakutaro! Uu-uu!
Okay, with that bit of introductory fangirly flavour out of the way, I think it's fairly clear from both Shulamit's prior posts and the above who I am. I can confirm Ileein's claims that the Mariage Sorciere is a separate entity from the scum Witch faction, and that we win with the town.
Thus far, the arguments against the Mariage Sorciere being town seem to be summed up in this post. In it, Shou mentions that:
1. He didn't accuse Ileein of being a witch, just a 'scum/culprit'.
2. Ileein/MS (Mariage Sorciere) cannot win with the town because then he should have NOT turned up as a culprit.
I think we're overlooking something here - as the town should know, the win condition is when all members of the Witch faction have been eliminated. The Witch faction is our scum, which might or might not be synonymous with 'culprit' - what I mean by this is that you can be a culprit (i.e. killed someone else on Rokkenjima) without being a witch.
In the novels, the witches move behind the scenes, constructing locked-room murders on the island that Battler tries to take apart with logic and human explanations. What the latter means is that some of the humans then become 'culprits' because "witches don't exist," therefore humans or accidents must be the cause of said murders. They might not necessarily mean Witch-faction scum in this context, and could explain why there are two alignment cops.
Additionally, from what I can glean from the information I got, Shulamit scrutinised Shiri last night and found out that he wasn't a member of the MS - which he wasn't. The nightmares, as far as I can tell, weren't explicitly linked to the power use, so I'm not sure where she got that impression.
This is mostly flavour speculation to begin with, but I'll see what stands out to me after re-reading the thread more closely.

Rika2011-01-30 09:24:57
I said that, except not in super long Silferras version.
Unknown2011-01-30 09:27:41
Sorry, that came out way longer than I expected.
Where did you mention it? I must have missed it, oops!

The term 'culprit' is kinda nebulous and could be easily misinterpreted. For now, I believe Ileein/Silferras' claim about being some pro-town witch group.
How does Tekora's Bernkastel play into this? Rika said 4 scum are still alive even after Bernkastel's death, implying that Tekora wasn't scum (5 scum of 16 is pretty high).

Sylandra2011-01-30 09:47:55
Heh, now I'm even less inclined to lynch you or Ileein. Pretty solid roleclaims. It's also making me wonder about this Bernkastel no-alignment thing. Possibly part of this faction?
Also, this idea that ordinary people could actually be culprits - Kiradawea is suddenly coming to mind. If people we would assume are scum actually aren't, isn't it possible that some assumed town members are also not what we think they are?
##VOTE KIRADAWEA.
I know she'll be gone for awhile, but when she comes back, Lucy got some splainin' to do.

Oh shoot I meant to say Silferras, not "you." Pardon ambiguity.

Just something of note.
There a lot of witches/sorcerers in the series based off the wiki page on it. More than there are players in this game. So we know that all witches/sorcerers cannot be bad (From a numbers standpoint. Obviously Furien could have ONLY placed witches/sorcerers as scum in this game, but there's the potential for sixteen witches here with only a handful of them being scum.)
However, Beatrice was the main antagonist of the series. She formed the Mariage Sorcière with Lady Maria. It was pretty exclusive. As in, just those two... except there was a third for awhile. Who is Ileein. I totally believe Ileein's claim in who she is. After reading up on the flavor, she appears to be totally honest about who she is. It would've taken a fair bit to come up with all of that to fake us out, while taking the risk that someone was actually assigned that role.
What I don't know, however, is if she's with town or against town. It's tough. I know she's being honest about the role, but unsure if she's being honest about the allegiance. They really could be a separate third group that has an entirely different win condition, too.
It's possible we might just have to drop this for now and look at others, though. I'm not sure if we can determine the faction validity without actually killing one of them and seeing how it turns out.
Thoughts?

Bit odd that Shulamait quit, but welcome Silf!
Ssaliss2011-01-30 13:06:27
Despite what Silferras, Ileein and Shulamit has written, we only have their word that Mariage Sorciere is pro-town. Given that Beatrice, the main antagonist, and Maria, her apprentice, formed that group, I for one am not ready to just take their word for it. My vote stays where it is for now.
Unknown2011-01-30 13:23:23
Oh, and I've been purposely not actually naming Ileein just in case something bad happens if anyone names her aloud. If you do a bit of searching with what has been provided you'll know right who she is.
Ileein2011-01-30 15:49:01
Well, I should point out that you only have the word of a self-claimed duplicate investigator that we aren't town, and as has been pointed out above even this has its vague points.

Yeah, I know. So if you turn out town if lynched, that'd be the first direction for me to look next.
Diamondais2011-01-30 16:06:14
Well, while the claims do seem well done and can be confirmed by each other, it's quite possible they are town, and it's equally possible they're a group that exists outside of the town, whether they're scum or not is to be determined.
However, Shou claiming alignment investigator and Furian posting that Shiri was one just does not sit right with me, for now I'm going to place my vote on Shou.
