One, I only wish. Ultimate power! Or that's what I think of it as. It's likely not. Two. Apparently, I'm not getting to sleep for at least the next half hour or so, guh.
Furien2011-01-27 05:20:39
Oh, f*** me.

The game master inadvertently reference the wrong role during the death of Tekora.
Tekora remains dead, but he is not EVA-Beatrice.
He was Bernkastel. The death post and related attributes will be updated accordingly.

Yeah, um. Sorry.

Edit: There. Now people arriving late will be really confused, but oh well. The game continues as normal, with apologies to related parties.
Tekora2011-01-27 05:27:51
Never let it be said that I'm not a good sport, seeing as it was me that pointed out Furien's flub.

That said, was I town? Was I scum? YOU'LL NEVER FIND OUT NOW.

I assume Bernkastel was a good witch and that means his death = bad for us then.

I disagree. In her relationships column on the wiki, it says Battler. I say we go by the simple system of BURN THE WITCH. Even though magic isn't real.
Unknown2011-01-27 05:39:50
Reading the wiki again I'm not so sure anymore. It seems that witches are generally bad and humans are generally good? All the witches seem to indulge in sadistic behaviours? Man this series has too many characters.
Shulamit2011-01-27 05:41:23
One day, when there is a less flavourful version of this mafia game, perhaps I'll understand it better. I'm still pretty confused. Was Tekora evil? It says Tekora could be cruel, then again. Apparently reading the wiki thingy, it could be good. Maybe? I mean. It could like, resurrect peoples.

Or I could be totally wrong. Meer.
Llandros2011-01-27 05:46:34
Well what troubles me is that it doesn't seem like anyone used a power on him or that he triggered some trap. Is there some kind of random death mechanic or what?
Shiri2011-01-27 05:51:19
I don't think we can afford to make assumptions about role based on name alone, because the witches/mortals/etc. are all kind of against each other at various points in the story. That is, don't make assumptions about the flavour unless we have a pattern established somehow.

I really don't want to try and make any conclusions based on the nature of Furien's mistake either, so that puts us in a tough spot. But unless Casilu's "magic isn't real" line was a throwaway line I'm tempted to go for her for now. Kira's train also hasn't been as fast to gather steam as I would have expected if the scum thought she was a free pass to vote on.

I'm just having fun with my role, Shiri-bot. tongue.gif

Holy god, what happened while I was away...
Kiradawea2011-01-27 11:17:24
Someone killed scum.
Shiri2011-01-27 11:31:19
Explain.

Classic scum move. Reveal something that didn't really need revealing, but then cite that town doesn't need to know everything since it helps scum more.

Two questions.

What are you smoking, and where can I get some?
Kiradawea2011-01-27 12:09:23
Town wins when all members of the Witch faction have been eliminated.

Bernkastel was a witch.
Shiri2011-01-27 12:12:24
I know this sounds retarded but Bernkastel might not actually be on the witch faction despite being a witch. (It's very possible that she is but we can't conclude that. Her alignment was hidden for a reason.)
Gleip2011-01-27 12:14:32
Kira. Did you kill Tekora?
Kiradawea2011-01-27 12:17:38
It'd be strange to not have the witches on the witch faction. If I understood the lore correct, there are four (five?) witches? Bernkastel, Lambdadelta, EVA-Beatrice, Virgilia and Beatrice. With a 16 person mafia, 4 scum sounds about right, and we know that both Bernkastel and EVA-Beatrice are around.
Shiri2011-01-27 12:17:57
Actually, I'm gonna unvote vote: Casilu for now. If anyone other than Kira/Casilu has any knowledge about how any non-town faction works, let's hear it. (I assume there's only the two factions because of the role PM wording but I don't want to jump to conclusions there until night 1 has passed.)

There's also all the demons like Gaap and Ronove and the Seven Stakes and Siestas serving them. And because Bernkastel's alignment wasn't revealed, there's a possibility that there's an anti-witch faction other than the town, which Bernkastel would be on along with possibly Erika, Battler, Ange etc. etc. That faction could be either pro or anti-town, given the nature of the source material.

I just realised that it doesn't make much sense to vote Casilu knowing that, so Unvote, Vote Kiradawea again, but I'd still like to hear if anyone has any information other than just extrapolating from the novels.

Random hypothetical: Witch Kiradawea pegs Casilu as anti-magic from her gimmicky posts earlier and does her weird little breadcrumbing/attach-to-town routine, then when Tekora dies through some agency or other tries to get that side lumped in with the witches.
