You're thinking too linearly. Those conversations have occurred, we just don't know exactly where on the timeline they happened, or when we may or may not get to see them and what perspective we'll get to see them from.

@Casilu: Honestly, I really hope this stuff does matter. If the Scratch just actually resets everything and essentially destroys the alpha timeline so that the majority of this doesn't matter, that would be SUCH a cop-out. Expect more from Hussie. ):

I'm pretty sure it's Past Karkat and Future John. We know John hasn't had his conversation yet (well, I guess he has since we saw him about to make the Scratch, but you know what I mean), and we know that when he tries to contact Karkat he doesn't always get the most "current" one.

Yeah, but John had talked to Karkat before. That was in the future (which is now the present/slightly pastness), juuust before John went up to make the Scratch. Which he hasn't made quite yet, but we've seen him ready to do so. You have to stop thinking about this linearly!

More then just dealing damage, she was keeping pace with the damage he was putting out too. Whoever won that duel, it would be a narrow victory.

Vriska did not die justly, nor as a Martyr. She was going to fight the greatest evil in the world, and was stabbed in the back. She'll proabably just rezz somewhere else.
