Oh, do tell. =O

I'll send the links later then. Posting them in public would violate a forum rule (that I accidentally broke before).

Edit: Nevermind, don't see any arguments to post.

Ohmigosh. I just discovered there's art for every song track, not just each album. Whee. */slow to the party*

How do you view these ._.

On the bandcamp album pages, click on the song title itself, and you'll go to the song page and it has its own little pitchur. In most cases. Some albums (Sburb and Medium come to mind) don't do that.

Speaking of the individual song artwork, sometimes I'm surprised by the insight it gives into what the songs themselves are about. Killed by BR8K Spider!!!!!!!!, for example, is the theme for the (alternate, doomed universe) showdown between Vriska and Jack Noir, hence the references to Black that are scattered throughout.

EDIT: Oh yeah and I just realized Rose + Jade = "rose-colored glasses" and "jade-colored glasses", durr. 'Cept they're the wrong way round in terms of personality.

I just wanted to share how much I love this picture. Perhaps while we wait out this hiatus, we could post some of our favorite Homestuck fan arts?

I swear to god if you people post dumb shipping stuff I'll disown you.

(totally waiting for other posts before posting any more myself, but this Heroes of Light picture is just too super sweet)

I really like how Vriska looks. Almost makes me like her. Almost. She/Mindfang has good state taste in clothing.

Mindfang's getup is pretty great. While I'm posting pictures, I happen to have a costume reference of it on hand, so that can be next...

I don't come across much fan art, other than an occasional look through Deviant Art.
Unknown2011-10-06 17:10:51
Decided to give a look see through DA for HomeStuck art and came across this:

Lulz

And I am noticing that Homestuck has a bit of hate towards it. This is surprising. Well I suppose not. I mean, I guess I just didn't expect it to have hate, not like MLP:FIM.

A large portion of the Homestuck fanbase is made up of the worst kind of people. I love the story and how fun everything is regardless of who else likes it, but sometimes they make me a little embarrassed to admit that I'm a Homestuck fan. People who hate things because of their fanbases have a strong hate towards Homestuck, because the most visible portion of the people who like it are the kind of people that make you wonder what people ever did to deserve this.

DOING IT RIGHT AND DOING IT WRONG: HOMESTUCK FANART EDITION

Doing it right:

Pretty shiny colors, also windy thing
Old but still one of my favorite Kanaya pictures
yes

Doing it wrong:

Oh god why
Stop that why would you ever draw that
Choose from about a million drawings that have different versions of this one's description. God damnit.

You know, I have to say that's exactly right. I personally don't care at all about Homestuck (I don't hate it for itself), but the way it gets portrayed in other threads around the forum other than this one leaves a really, really bad impression of the whole thing. Especially when all there is for multiple posts in a row are 'honks'... for some reason, that doesn't really convey anything positive when you've never read Homestuck.

Admittedly that has gone down significantly recently, which is nice!

PS: Before you ask why I read this thread, I generally read every thread on these forums. It's a curse. sad.gif

Edit: Also, I'm more going on the notion that Homestuck appears to draw out a certain attitude and 'visibility' from those who are its most enthusiastic supporters and followers, not the 'worst kind of people' argument. Figured I should make that clear here. I haven't really associated with any other Homestuck followers except you all.

Hrm, I see. Well I definitely see the difference in hate for Homestuck and MLP:FiM. Though both groups have those people in it.

@Xenthos: I think that's a problem of any fanbase. because essentially its an inside joke for anyone but those who haven't seen or read what's being referenced. Kind of like me talking wow with a friend, and the rest of my friends not understanding what I'm talking about.

If you're regularly throwing that conversation in their face and discussing it in front of them, sure (for example, going to a gathering at their house and then spending an hour talking about WoW while they're sitting there clueless); I imagine that would leave them feeling somewhat estranged as well.

I've never had WoW enthusiasts running around throwing around an 'in' joke for long periods of time all over the place, though, either RL or here on the forums. The WoW thread, when active, was pretty self-contained.

Mostly I was using WoW as an example as that is my main area of interest. usually though when I do reference wow and they give me a confused look/response I just say "wow" and they understand.

Clicking on these links count among some of the worst decisions I've ever made, especially that first one. Anyone looking into get into Homestuck, I usually say to stick with the website and wiki if something gets really confusing. Most things outside of that gets into wtfmyeyes territory.
