If you're one of the goofballs who doesn't bother reading the announces or his tumblr because you're still too mesmerized by Cascade, you should take a look. He has some notes about the technical details and work behind the animation, as well as some details and summations up what is actually going on in the flash.

Also regular updates resume 11/11/11 (too much crap that day, going to die from epic overload) 'cus he needs to get his momentum going again.

EDIT: In related news, archive trawling in the run-up to the end of act flash has solidified my distaste of Feferi. Officially number 12 in my troll rankings! (24 if you include the ancestors. Oh my Gog I love those guys.)

I was re-reading most of the Doc Scratch related stuff and realized this is probably not what I originally thought it was, IE. Jack blowing up the meteor.

Could be either or at this point, I think. As far as we can tell, Jack could have spent the same amount of stabbing his way through Terezi and Karkat in the alt timeline as he did blowing up Bslick in the Alpha timeline, to put that at the same moment the Green Sun appeared. I wouldn't put it past Hussie to do it. I bet eventually we get a mention about how the Sun is visible at that point in all alt timelines.

He followed the trail back to the hideout, and the explosion happened where the trail ended. As was clearly demonstrated in the latest flash, the hideout and the Green Sun are rather far away from one another.

In that frame there is no point of reference to judge where that light is in relation to anything else besides not near Vriska, her trail ins't visible anymore. It's just her head, and the light. There's no way to say for sure one way or the other right now, in my opinion, so I'm gonna stand by that being Green Sun.

But that's my point, it's not expressly stated, only implied. With Hussie, especially the Doc Scratch part of the narration, I don't think assumptions are safe. =P

On the other hand it's a totally unimportant detail at the current moment, I dunno why I'm defending it. I'm just gonna go on believing what I want unless it does somehow become relevant and gets clarified.

)(oly carp. When Hussie said he was gonna have an animation before 11/11, I didn't know he meant the birth of Lord English. Way to overachieve there, buddy. Nice to finally hear his awesome theme in the comic, though.
