My issue is I most of my credits are elite and thus are bound.

Could always set the price in gold and/or credits. I've seen people buy/sell dbs using gold instead of credits.

Something I've been wondering, related to this. Now that there is a constant stream of dingbats in the mix, would you consider creating a system of selling dingbats similar to the credit market?
Yes, please.
I managed to pick up the dingbats I need for my bubblix, but it meant advertising a ton and took a decent while. I see people buying and selling fairly regularly, but it seems to always be someone who can't unload their dingbats at what they're asking, or someone who is trying to buy a dingbat arti and can't find sellers, and never both at the same time, like you would assume from a fluid market.

Let me talk to Roark about that. It depends how much of a pain it is to set up. Would people use this as much as the credit market?

Like I have that kind of gold to buy all the dingbats that I want now with these comm things >.>

That would be really helpful. I know I'd use it (although I worry that the dingbat supply might just not be great enough and the market would be empty a lot of the time...)

No, because there aren't nearly as many in circulation. If you mean "Will people use this enough to make it worth coding" then I'd say, yes, definitely.
EDIT: I don't know if it would be empty, Shamarah, or if the price would just increase due to the low supply. I don't think the current system of just using market really let's a real supply/demand dynamic set up.

Well, it'll let you know if there are enough dingbats in circulation at any given time... if the market is regularly empty, might want to look into seeing if you can get dingbat policy examined.
If not regularly empty, then people will be using it!

The dingbats will sell out so fast and the prices will go up beyond 2 cr/db.
Daraius2011-02-01 01:39:31
I would certainly use a dingbat market, to avoid haggling, but I've also never had trouble selling my elite dingbats. I'd really like some of those farm thingies, but I need gold more right now.
Estarra2011-02-01 01:39:44
If we can do a dingbat market, it would be dingbats for gold.
Sylphas2011-02-01 01:41:10
The issue with dingbat policy being IRE wide is that we seem to have by far the widest range of dingbat-equivalent items to purchase. From what I've seen when I looked at the other games, they're treated more as a rare treat to save up for big ticket things, instead of here, where they're treated almost like gnomish credits.

So to buy dingbats, I would have to buy credits, sell them for gold, then buy dingbats for gold. That is very unappealing. Couldn't we do both, and maybe for parity let you sell credits on the credit market for dingbats?

Yes. Probably more than I use the credit market.

I'd like a dingbats for sale too, but I think there won't be as many dingbats in circulation as you'd like.
How about them censers.
How about them censers.

She said they'll likely remain auction-only.

Well nuts.
Unknown2011-02-01 01:50:42
More thoughts on a dingbat market: If it was put in, I could see all of the ones put up being bought up immediately due to people being like "omg dingbats yes", which probably would lead to higher prices, just 'cause. But it would also be much more convenient to find them in the first place.
Unknown2011-02-01 01:50:55
You should talk to the head honchos at IRE and get rid of the dingbat pyramid scheme and make these regular credit arties. I know it is a sales gimmick but it is also a little insulting. I was hoping for an artifact package sale this month as I have a shopping list for my manse. I would also suggest previewing the monthly specials before the last day of the prior month.

Upon rereading that post sounded a bit snarky which was not my intent.
