Perceptions of Characters 2

Back to Chronicles of the Basin.

Riluna2012-07-15 08:04:37
Svorai is one of the few of the Wyrd that Riluna respects without hesitation, and one of even fewer whom she truly considers family. Though their meetings have been less frequent than what she may have liked, much of what she has seen reminds Riluna of her mentor and would-be mother Ried. Primarily, in Svorai's ability to present her convictions in a way that causes Riluna to truly doubt her own (though Ril would refuse to admit that), and in Svorai's apparent willingness to at least listen politely to an opposing viewpoint. These things seem to set Svorai apart from and above most of those of her commune, of whom Riluna has seen little other than the desire for bloodshed of all not their own. Riluna both longs for and fears future interactions.
Unknown2012-07-15 19:25:25
Riluna is one of the reasons Hadrian is enjoying playing right now. He never knew or heard much about her before, but he's happy that he's getting to interact with her as they're in the same order and Riluna seems very friendly and down-to-earth, which Hadrian naturally gravitates to.

Hadrian is, at the same time, afraid of being seen as overly friendly or having his interest misinterpreted as nosiness. Having few friends and people to talk to because of his natural reclusiveness, Hadrian always feels the need to extend a friendly hand because he feels one will never be extended to him first.

Hadrian also likes that Riluna wears a full set of clothes and undergarments. <.<
Eritheyl2012-07-15 22:31:11
Eritheyl never knew much of Hadrian, aside from the fact that he was alive while Eri was still a Spiritsinger. He always seemed fun and interesting (unlike the rest of the then-empty guild), which sort of spurred the development of a short term, bug-eyed hero worship after Xypher left for Gaudiguch.
Aldani2012-07-15 23:16:51
Aldani has always admired Eritheyl's drive and creativity, and feels vaguely inadequate as an Order peer and text-spouse.
Unknown2012-07-16 00:11:27
Aldani:

Aldani has always admired Eritheyl's drive and creativity, and feels vaguely inadequate as an Order peer and text-spouse.

Phoebus has always liked Aldani, appreciating her existence as a creative and friendly member of Hallifax, although you sort of have to look to find her. In fact, that's Phoebus' one problem with Aldani: she spends far too much time hiding from sight off in her manse! But thankfully Isune's return and subsequent migration to Hallifax seems to be drawing Aldani more and more out of her hermit shell.

Having secretly wished it for a very long time, Phoebus was super extremely excited to learn that Aldani was interested in joining the Windwhisper family, and gladly brought her in as a member of the cursed root generation. Huzzah! :)
Kante2012-07-16 00:18:54
Tynghall knows all too little about Phoebus. From his viewpoint, she is simply another Hallifaxian. Useful, perhaps, in meeting his own goals and if he can con some of the more scientific secrets out of her, useful to Magnagora as a whoole.

With his few interactions with her, though, he views her as rather silly, unintimidating, and inconsequential as a whole.
Skye2012-07-16 20:10:00
I've never even heard of Tynghall, but in the interest of keeping this thread moving, I'll work with what I've got.

To Skye, Tynghall is a Magnagoran who he suspects is purely the product of his city. He's another one of the masses who fights for a cause because it's what he's grown up with and knows, like so many people in the Basin. The fact that he did spend some time in Glom makes Skye think he either wants to cause pain/look badass, or he possibly has done some real thinking and found his path, good for him. That or he was just curious and then decided to stay for whatever reason. In any event, Skye mostly sees another soldier for the Tainted cause.
Ankastra2012-07-16 20:11:56
Ankastra likes Skye because Skye stocks her whiskey. She also likes his lion. Skye is nice. Yay.
Seraphina2012-07-16 21:55:06
Seraphina's seen Ankastra around a few times. Her general impression is that Ankastra is a much more experienced member of Glomdoring, and seems to be very much at home. Seraphina looks up to Ankastra, as she does many other active members of the commune, and would love to get to know her better. :)
Tacita2012-07-16 22:09:39
Seraphina is Tacita's protege, and as such is subject to being massively spoilt. Tacita is somewhat torn when it comes to Seraphina, because on the one hand she's exceptionally happy that her protege is very happy in House Nightshade and on the other hand she was really hoping that it would turn out that Seraphina was slaugh-blooded (not least because the more sibilant Shee-Slaugh, the better). Nonetheless she will admit that the NS probably suit her better, and in a way she's glad that Seraphina's buoyant nature will not be iced over by her family's influence - this, coupled with seeing how well Seraphina is doing with her new family, has made her settle comfortably into the role of proud supporter. She worries sometimes that she isn't doing enough to help Seraphina, but also trusts that if she needs anything that she'll ask.
Unknown2012-07-16 22:27:59
Tacita has proven to be a competent successor to leadership, and has not disappointed in that regard. She seems to be a more approachable figurehead, for the better, and good about finding her own time for breaks. However, since my character is an asocial workhorse, I don't have much more comment to give.
Kalaneya2012-07-16 22:33:02
Ragniliff is a lot of hard work and barely any recognition, at least, much less than she deserves. She also tries to inspire people of the commune to do things, to somewhat mixed results. This isn't really an attestation to her leadership, but rather to a style of leadership that empowers others to be as much as they can be on their own, without the handholding. How very Glommy!
Unknown2012-07-16 23:40:45
Kalaneya has a knack for designing pretties! She seems to enjoy getting her hands dirty with a lot of different things and isn't stuck in a frame of mind of doing just that or another, which has earned her some fair recognition in the Nekotai and makes her a highly desirable cult member. She's got the proper stuff that makes a good Glom, basically.
Svorai2012-07-17 00:51:35
Ragniliff is a member of Glomdoring that Svorai has always looked up to. Stoic and sensible, she just does what needs to be done without fuss, complaint or parading her contributions; the way everyone should be, in Svorai's opinion. She considers Ragniliff to be the perfect example of what it means to be a Stormcrow, and she holds her in high regard for this.

All her approval aside, though, Svorai has her own insecurities where the 'older generation' is concerned, and finds it difficult to strike up meaningful conversation with Ragniliff, to her continued frustration. They are both members of Viravain's Order, and Ragniliff is Svorai's mother-in-law, so they have important things in common ((maybe she's where Vadi gets his quietness from -kickrock- <3)), but there seems to be a (real or imagined) gap between the two. The admiration-bordering-on-idolatry that Svorai's daughter has of Ragniliff drives a further wedge in this issue, leaving Svorai with an uncomfortable and lingering feeling of self-doubt and jealousy where Ragniliff is concerned, though she would never admit that to either party. She just has to be better, that's all.

All in all, NMBG, and Svorai puts personal issues aside and respects Ragniliff for what she is: an often silent, but capable leader, and someone she believes all should aspire to be like.

Edited: Because I words things cannot.
PS: Sorry for hijacking the thread. >.> Skip me if you want!.
Unknown2012-07-17 09:02:16
Svorai, in the limited capacity they've so far met, strikes Mael as having all the 'proper' qualities of Glomdoring. Refined, cultured, high class individuals that do their jobs properly . Gives him hope that the Glomdoring he left behind as needlessly warmongering contains some properly subtle, classy folken . All in all, he rather hopes to see more of her.
Svana2012-07-17 18:53:17
Svana has only met Maellio once, and that encounter left her pretty amused. She has a simple mind, so anything that isn't a Citizen or a member of the Order is generally food waiting to happen. Despite considering him a future snack, she loved his quirky sense of humor and considers him an actual person, where most other Hallifaxians are walking meat. In short... Svana likes the guy, in an odd and horrible sense of the thing.
Arsalil2012-07-18 02:18:21
Arsalil is mostly scared of, but has a lot of respect for Svana. She has actually always been nice to Arsalil, in her own, intimidating way, and is one of the people Arsalil is most looking forward to getting to know better now that she has moved to Gaudiguch. She also think Svana has one of the coolest pets ever, and hopes that some of that coolness rubs off on her own pet rhino.
Unknown2012-07-20 00:40:05
Arunasapta only knows of Arsalil through conversations with Knorrith, and fully encouraged their pending marriage even when Arsalil was still a citizen of an unfriendly organization. Now that she's moved to Gaudiguch, Aruna is convinced that city living will be good for her, and hopes that a forestal approach will be a valid asset to the Pyromancers. She approves of anyone who makes Order members happy (at least as long as they don't compromise the city) and views Arsalil as proof of true love conquering all; given that she's yet to actually meet Arsalil, Arunasapta will continue to see her as more of an ideal than a person until Aruna actually remembers to socialize with others again.
Xiel2012-07-20 02:48:59
Arunasapta has to be one of the rare few Viynain has encountered to delve so deeply into the understanding and personification of an Order. Easily a person he can look up to, he feels Arunasapta is also one of the few in Gaudiguch who understand the potential for the city to be more than just a place for drinking and getting high. Though enjoying and imbibing both is expected, the underlying concept of Enlightenment is realized, as he can see, in Arunasapta who he believes has managed to do so through religion and faith.
Eliron2012-07-20 03:15:21
Eliron respects Viynain's capabilities a great deal, and he finds Viynain helpful and distantly likable (having not spent a great deal of time with him IC). He thinks Viynain lacks the driving, fanatical loyalty that Eliron considers a redeeming characteristic, and so Eliron finds him to be a poor influence on the few Erid'in members that remain in Glomdoring. He's secretly disappointed in this, since when Erid'in was more solidly Glomdoring, Eliron thought it a very respectable family full of awesome people, and showed this appreciation by trying to steal all of Viy's kids.
