QUOTE (Seraku @ Feb 13 2011, 06:44 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Seraku has always held janalon in high regard. She was one of the first people in the ninjakari to actually notice him and has always been nice to him. He was a bit bummed when she left the guild however he doesn't care that she's in glom. He's happy to have her as his aunt in law and hopes that someday she'll have a few drinks with him again.

Seraku is racist. Kialkarkea has known him for years, and thinks he's a decent guy, but he's just flat out racist. She'll interact with him, and finds him rather amusing, but when it comes down to it, the fact that he's biased so severely against her favorite races keeps her from interacting with him as much as she perhaps would otherwise. That aside, she's also not terribly happy about his preference for Magnagora, but understands it and finds it enjoyable to taunt him about it from time to time. As an illuminati she found him somewhat uninspiried and uninteresting, but her interactions with him regarding the guild were entirely second person. Curiously enough, despite this wealth of negative feelings towards him, she still thinks he's a decent guy and would go to bat for him, though she would never be entirely sure why. She does respect his conviction in his misguided beliefs, and from time to time suspects that he would do well in trying circumstances for Gaudiguch, if not the basin as a whole.

Kialkarkea is just a vague memory in Mael's mind, this person that he'd pass over and over again at the Aetherplex. He likely thinks he stopped to chat once or twice (regardless of if it ever happened) and would certainly be up for conversation again, probably with an eternally nagging feeling that he should know her better than he does. Certainly doesn't have any strikes against her yet in his mind.
Daraius2011-02-14 04:56:29
Daraius didn't like Maellio at all initially. The fact that he was a dracnari in Hallifax was just one of several strikes against him. He seemed so smug, always talking riddles and prodding people into philosophical discussions, and making sly little observations any time Daraius showed any sign of not being a robot. Oh, and sneaking into conversations while shrouded. Just plain distasteful! Sylandra was the one always arranging for them to be in the same room together, either in play rehearsal or at a tea party, or just on account of the magnetic effect she has on creepy snakemen. Daraius would have just as soon maintained a perfectly professional relationship with Maellio and that would have been the end of it, but Maellio was persistent. Eventually they had a polite confrontation about their divergent ways of dealing with people, and once it was out in the open that they would never quite see eye to eye, Daraius had a paradigm on which to start building a friendship. Many tea parties, plays, invaded discussions, question games, and wedding planning sessions later...

Daraius still thinks Maellio has some bad habits and unsavory ideas, but he really values his insight and perspective. So much so that Maellio probably has the most complete scoop on Daraius's story so far.

(Oh my god, Ilyssa, I see what you mean about the pronouns. whatthe.gif )

Amavan was impressed with Daraius from the moment he met him. Daraius struck him was restrained, professional, and yet still a pleasure to talk to. Daraius represents much of what is wrong with Serenwilde in Amavan's eyes by embodying qualities that he admires and that most people in Serenwilde seem to lack. He feels that Daraius is a perfect representative of Hallifax and admires him even though they have only spoken a few times.
Everiine2011-02-14 05:23:15
Amavan is a name Everiine knows from way back, but can't quite remember why he knows him. This is both a good thing and a bad thing. Ev does not remember anything bad about Amavan, but can't quite remember any specifics about him either. When Ev thinks of Amavan, he thinks of a quiet leader, rational and logical, yet caring.
Krackenor2011-02-14 05:57:27
Krackenor respects Everiine. Although he tries to avoid contact with the Serenwilde as a general rule of thumb, Krackenor's few official interactions with the forest have mostly been through Everiine, and he appreciates the latter's efficiency and straightforwardness (even if it is all just to say 'there is no way in Nil you are getting unenemied')
Unknown2011-02-14 14:58:44
Aeral has a sort of terrified respect for Krackenor, despite her growing up knowing to eradicate the Taint. She doesn't know him all that well, but knows of him. So, in a sense, she can respect Magnagorians and yet hate them. Krackenor's no different. Given the chance, though, she'd probably size him up and go after him.
Laranda2011-02-14 15:33:39
Laranda's been quite impressed with Aeral's recent forays into the world of piloting. Being the Admiral of the Navy, the lack of pilots has been a present concern of his. He's also quite curious as to how Aeral at times has bits and pieces of information in the on-goings of pretty much anything. Overall, he views Aeral and a respectable ally, friend, and Order mate, while appreciating similar interests in aetherspace and raising beasts.

Laranda is so sparkly! Odette, with a real appreciation for anything pretty, truly enjoyed both of their short meetings. His dog was comfy and he was entertaining. She tends to enjoy most of her sister's friends, but Laranda stands out beyond them all, mostly because he sends his regards through Lyora. As a person, he seems honest and friendly, but if it were only that, Odette probably would not have given him a second look. She is grateful for having been forced to sit down and talk to him, and if she weren't so busy, she would probably wander out of her hole and corner him for a conversation again.

Sylandra doesn't know Odette very well, but had intended to meet her through her father, Eliron - as the two were very close and had a habit of insisting that the other meet their children, jokingly so that their families could combine through marriage and be doubly awesome. Odette and Sylandra have had brief discussions on the Inseira family clan (so brief, in fact, that Sylandra presumes Odette barely remembers her, or has no real idea of who she is). Sylandra recalls her being well-spoken and polite (as to be expected of a proper Inseira!) and has heard lovely things about her from Eliron.

However, shortly after Odette discovered her family, Sylandra and the Board of Directors caused Hallifax to secede from Trinity, effectively straining all of Sylandra's ties to the Inseira family. Just passing by Odette in the aetherplex, Sylandra can't help but feel a bit of regret for being unable to get to know her, or the rest of the Inseiras, as she knows she's been branded a traitor in some way or another to them. And while Sylandra doesn't regret Hallifax's decision or her part in it, she does regret the cost it took in that respect.

Prav likes Sylandra and thought she was a good Mayor. He liked that she was kind of a dark horse candidate in the election but really grew into the role with time. It was fun to watch her go from her frazzled initial state as Mayor to the confident state that she ended her term in. Prav thinks Sylandra's resignation was sad, but, at the same time it is better to go out on top!

Edit: We also blew up the Matrix... twice! Sylandra has the patience of a saint.
Everiine2011-02-14 18:25:48
Everiine has only heard about Prav through word-of-mouth. Naturally, it's not all been good things, but Ev tries to refrain from judgement until he actually meets him. He gets the impression that Prav is one of those brainiac kids who got his doctorate at 16, is incredibly smart, but his perceived-inexperienced means that he has to work that much harder to earn the respect that goes with his title.

Mael holds a rather high respect for Everiine, having been impressed by not only the few public posts and writings that he's done but also the few times they've interacted over the years (several of which are not remembered by the party in question). In a forest of those who bought into the folly of the conflict between the forests just as much as Glom did, Everiine didn't quite seem the fool. And completely unrelated to personality, he has the benefit of having had his job for a really long time - he's part person and part governmental fixture.

Llesvelt genuinely likes Maellio. He finds it interesting to discuss things of varying importance with him and has more tolerance when he perceives him to stray than he affords most others. Maellio is also the eternal exception whenever he rants about airheaded fire-spewing lizards, which he is always careful to note.

Lately he has not seen him as much.
Ileein2011-02-14 21:38:49
Ileein, naturally, loves Llesvelt dearly in that dry sort of way he has. He thinks Llesvelt has got it spot on when it comes to things like Gaudiguch, even if the reluctant diplomat in Ileein does think Llesvelt takes it too far sometimes. In his heart of hearts, though, he agrees completely. All in all, Ileein respects Llesvelt as a person and wishes all Sentinels could be like him, except for the inability to fight thing. He doesn't mind Sentinels being able to fight.
Aerotan2011-02-14 22:32:46
Usa has a deep abiding respect for Ileein that mostly stems from the allowances he was given in the early days of the institute. They never interacted much beyond that, but because he was simply allowed to contribute, Usa will likely support Ileein against anyone else trying to become Execumatrix Magnificus, short of Kiradawea or Renthur.

Aeral adores Syridean. He helped her with the first Meliashmora quest, and they really bonded over that. These days, she doesn't see him so much and misses him. Aeral looks at Syridean with respect and would ask his opinion on important decisions.

Eliron mainly knows Aeral from when she empaths on aetherhunts. He sees her as what he'd consider the standard for likable Celestians: competent, dedicated to her city, and genuinely friendly to allies.
Daraius2011-02-15 04:38:10
Daraius didn't like Eliron either at first. He seemed so comfortable with secrets and lies, like all Gloms, which is directly counter to the way Daraius operates. Daraius grew to tolerate him on account of his being Maellio's brother and Sylandra's forest buddy. Then he grew to respect him on account of his being a friend of Arel's and Nihmriel's and a talented artist. But then Eliron had to go and write a song and suggest that Daraius and Sylandra dance to it sometime. So Daraius had to single-handedly orchestrate the alliance shift to avoid a potentially awkward situation.

Casilu just thinks Daraius needs a big, muddy hug. Also, that he has a fractal stick up his butt.
