Yeah, it is the normal 15 dollars a month, one month, three month, and six month subscriptions. Buying the game comes with a free month. Same way everyone else does subscriptions.
Furien2011-02-20 01:27:49
You can get cheapter $13/11 subscriptions if you subscribe and pay every 3 or 6 months, too.
If you plan on playing in Wargames, you can have a premade of up to 5 people. Just ask in your local /4 /5 /6 or whatever your level bracket is chat channel. People are usually desperate for this sort of thing.

So who is going to be in the headstart? On Faeblight?

I'll be in the headstart, but I can't play on Faeblight since it is, sadly, a PvE server and I refuse to play on PvE servers because it just doesn't feel right to me.
Furien2011-02-23 18:45:07
Yeah, definitely. Same place, same time, same characters, same community.
Fun will be had.

OK so please excuse my ignorance here, but what makes Rift so much more exciting and better than WoW, which is the vibe I'm getting from all this hype I see? I am looking at their website and it seems pretty normal!

Honestly, for me, something that's decent that's just NOT WoW is nice, mix stuff up for awhile. I guess it's generally prettier, and there's more room for class customization. The rifts themselves look to be pretty dynamic and fun.
Unknown2011-02-23 18:56:31
Polish mostly. It's not really trying to be horribly different but it does a good job at what it has. The biggest difference is the rifts, common zone or multi-zone events that range from stuff you can solo to things that need large public groups to show up and handle them. It's mostly just well done over being crazy different.
Sylphas2011-02-23 18:57:33
The art style is far too different for me to call it prettier, but basically just that's it not WoW, it'll be a nice change of pace to explore a new world with new classes. And the inclusion of support classes gets a big thumbs up from me if they can keep people from min-maxing them out of a raid somehow.

The same reason any and all new mmos will be called "better" than WoW when they first come out is that they are new. However, once it is finally out and had a few months, whether it fails or not will be known. The new car smell and feel will finally wear off and people will see Rift's true colours/potential.
Unknown2011-02-23 20:02:27
The soul system makes it different from WoW and allows for a lot of customization. I feel like there's a lot more world interaction as well.

Evidently the 'cancel subscription' button vanishes from Warhammer Online's account management the day before Rift's launch.
Lulz. I am reasonably certain that Rift won't go the way of Warhammer, thank goodness.

Seriously? That's amazing. XD
Morbo2011-02-24 04:16:22
I decided to join a bunch of my friends that decided to buy for the early release, so we'll be joining you on faeblight. I'll probably be Zxantamos or Morbo depending on what's available
Ilyarin2011-02-25 17:20:55
Someone play with me?!
Sylphas2011-02-26 01:37:51
My WoW friends and I rolled Defiant on Regulos.
Ilyarin2011-02-28 08:45:52
Boo, Defiant on Argent please.
Furien2011-03-04 20:28:20
Why is it that every patch since Open Beta 4 has had some sort of nerf to the Archon, the most underplayed and underpowered Mage class in the game?
I wish this would stop.

I gave in and started to play. Got to do something with all that cash now I quit WoW, eh? Guardian on Firesand, because I've not played a "good" character in like forever.
Ilyarin2011-03-05 15:26:56
I think I'm going to roll a character on Firesand as well. May as well give Guardian a go, I suppose. Will have to learn all the areas again, ahhhh. At least it will be fresh and new. What class did you pick?
