For those who have Facebook accounts and are interested, the new Lusternia Facebook Group has been pretty active. Come join!

If the spaminess bugs you (it does me sometimes - particularly the group chat) you can go in and edit it out via the group settings. You can also turn off e-mail notifications from it as well (which is fantastic).

It has been indeed!

Interesting. Do all the Gods have their profile pics up on there?

You'll never know who you might find in the group.

Eventru2011-02-16 22:20:18
So long as you send me parts to my mega-oven, Shuyin!
Ayisdra2011-02-16 22:43:28
the chat updates really slowly
Llesvelt2011-02-16 22:44:03
Yes, yes it does.
Neos2011-02-17 01:32:18
This is the most time I've spent on facebook in forever.
Dynami2011-02-17 02:54:55

The popularity of Facebook continues to amaze me. I guess if you are already on the internet completely giving up your privacy is okay for some people.

Eh, I see its use mostly for keeping in touch with people. No, don't tell me to pick up a phone, calling internationally and/or long distance can get rather expensive. You also have the ability to restrict what you give up, or if any information is given at all

If you're on the internet then you've given up most of your privacy. And most of the super secret private info people give away on facebook never has been private and never will be. It's always been possible to get every bit of info you want on someone if you want it.

The thing I continue to not get about Facebook is the adding of people you don't really know as "friends". I guess that's just my natural misanthropy shining through, but I just can't do it. I have 26 people added and 24 of those are people I have met in real life and liked! I'm good with that number and I just can't see the point in adding lots of people I don't really know.
Kiradawea2011-02-17 12:59:54
That's not misanthropy. That's being cautious.

You can adjust your privacy settings - it's not all or nothing.
And you don't have to put any revealing info, like an address, on your profile if you don't want to.

I am a little bit like you caffrey, although I consider online friends to fall under friends. I won't add everyone that happens to play the same MMO as me, but if you're someone with whom I've built up a connection, then you count as a friend.
Joining a Lusternia group? Well, why not. If anyone adds me as friend the policy is simple though, tell me who you are ingame and I might or might not accept you. If there is no note unless I can guess who you are, you tend to get declined. Too much spambots

I tend to put all unfamiliar contacts in facebook under a separate group, whose access to my account is greatly limited.

Follow your basic thoughts of common sense: If you're worried about someone knowing your identity, don't add them. You can also modify security settings so that they can't see your information. It's really up to you.
I long ago stopped worrying about things like that because I'm pretty public in my city and my jobs, so I have to be. Not everyone does.
Also - follow the same common sense as forums: Don't give away identities of people's characters. Let them do that.
Hope you all have fun!
