I was thinking, some people (like me) feel that American basketball has degenerated into a mindless orgy of slam dunks and layups. Now some sports, like boxing, are divided up into weight classes because physical size plays such a large part in playing them. So why not divide basketball up into height classes?
I know that the basketball I can play is nothing like the sport people who are seven feet tall are playing, and that causes my interest in the game to flag these days.

Having height classes might be cool. I know that I tend to like watching women's basketball better than men's (if I watch basketball at all) just cause those really tall guys seem to cover the entire court in like three big steps and just slam dunk constantly whenever I see a game while the women are shorter so they actually seem to play more. Though, some of the women are pretty effing tall too.

I watched a game of women's basketball once. I shook my head and changed the channel back to an NBA game.

Height classes in Basketball make no sense. Somebody like Nate Robinson who standa at 5'9 can do the same thing as any regular height basketball player. It defeats the purpose of competiton and striving to get better

This is why I only watch NCAA.

Eh, the issue isn't height in any way. It's more NBA attitude. Go watch NCAA or Woman's basketball and you're going to have players with similar height playing without it being a slam dunk fest. Height classes wouldn't really change much.
