I'll go along with this to put some pressure on lurkers to talk. Order army to attack Bali

Seems to be mostly about guessing the mod on which characters are in the game and how the cult works the last few pages. :/
And also, the names!
And also, the names!
Pretty much this.
I've been debating the merits with role reveals off and on with myself, as an aside, but I'm pretty sure they'll be useless in this game. There's just way too many fake claims people could leap on. And dueling looks like it will be a deadend as well, since we don't get any hints alignment wise from the flavour text.
The very size of the game is also making my ability to gauge anything on day 1 hard. I'm just not getting a sense of any particular agendas coming from anyone.

Don't know if Bali's been active elsewhere in the forums, but I did expect more posts from a player of his caliber.
So I'll also ORDER ARMY TO ATTACK BALI.
Requesting an assessment of the battlefield from the GM.

Ah, chinese names.
Especially with everyone switching sides all the time, what an excellent little cocktail of confusion.
There are, like, 6-7 people with the name of "Zhang", in 3-4 different factions.

I'm pretty much on the verge of asking to be replaced because I'm just so confused and overwhelmed about everything - there are so many people and I don't know a thing about the theme, so every time I look at the thread, I just completely lose any inclination to write a response because of the sheer effort of sorting through things I'd need to do. Assignment deadlines are not helping.
Anyway, my general thought-things, not sure if they've been brought up or not before:
1) Game setup discourages claiming as a defense. Town need to eliminate scum (which I assume is made of cult and normal scum team, good job on taking out the former) THEN engage in a blind free-for-all in which you don't know your allies but claiming or having claimed anything will draw the possibly lethal attention of both other town groups.
2) So.. nothing DID happen to Ssaliss despite the rock-crushing?
3) What are we trying to get out of people when we pressure them, taking into account that town have just as much reason to protect their true identity as scum?
4) I feel terrible for being Chinese and not knowing anything about all this. <.< There was this intimidating Chinese book version the school made us buy during secondary, but I never got past the first few pages.

Aww. Sorry Silferras.
1) Just about.
2) If something did happen, it didn't affect his ability to vote.
3) Mm. I don't expect much from the pressured person.
4) Everything substantial about Chinese culture, I learned from Wikipedia. Except New Year's Money. Mum and Dad taught that.
Unknown2011-02-21 06:35:24
Yeah, with the amount of people in the game (versus amount of posting) I'd say we just try to get past Day 1 already. I'm okay with the lynch a lurker strategy.

ORDER ARMY TO ATTACK BALI.
Rawr!

If you can read the unabridged Chinese version of the novel, I applaud you. I couldn't get past the first sentence, and had to have my mom simplify it for me.

Sounds good to me.

I'm back! I might have jury duty this week though, I never know how t hat will turn out. I do apologise for not being around, but most of you who've played with me know that I don't allow Mafia to take precedence over my weekend plans.
Unknown2011-02-21 09:37:44
I think that's 8 votes. Are we going to wait for Bali to respond ?
Ssaliss2011-02-21 09:55:36
That's my plan, at least. Figured I'd vote for him if he hasn't responded within 24 hours.
Diamondais2011-02-21 10:19:38
I'll hold my vote until I return from lectures, or until I go to bed tonight if it's still too early by 5:30pm my time.

Somewhat surprisingly, my experience with Dynasty Warriors is coming in handy during this game.
I'm gonna hold off my vote until I hear back from Bali. It's getting pretty close.

Same. Though this waiting thing is kind of frustrating.

Can we get a mod prod on the lurkers?
