Whoa. What a mess. Is each day going to be a different campaign/event?
Arix2011-02-17 07:35:24
Has anything happened yet? I was distracting myself with making huge, free-floating cubes in Minecraft
Unknown2011-02-17 07:36:57
What's happening? I profess confuuusion.
So is that bit about Ssaliss just flavour, or did he get axed in some way?

I have a feeling that was more than just flavor, but only Sissy could tell us for sure.

Son, I am confuse.
I also haven't played mafia in like two years, so I'm just going to random vote, or rather, random order army to attack Dynami.

I too, cannot discern if that was just a flavour blurb or something that affected Ssaliss.
Unknown2011-02-17 08:46:52
I have to head to bed soon. These are not my usual waking hours.
Since what happened Ssaliss wasn't fatal and he's not around yet, I'm more curious about the other flavour text regarding the Yellow Turban Rebellion. I had assumed this game was based on the Romance of the Three Kingdoms novel, but it sounds more like it's based on a computer game? Do events like the Yellow Turban Rebellion have significance in the computer game?

The Yellow Turban Rebellion is in the novel.
Llesvelt2011-02-17 09:05:49
It was also a real thing:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yellow_Turban_Rebellion
As far as I am aware, most of the stuff that happens in the novel and the game is, just escalated in drama and scale.

Ah, morning, this looks like it's starting off rather confusing, so I'm going to go wake up a little bit before I do anything else but check in.
Unknown2011-02-17 11:43:42
Ooooooooooooh, game start-up time.
Ssaliss2011-02-17 12:56:39
What the...? I was asleep, and somehow my rear was smashed into pieces? And the worst part is, I've got no clue what it means. If I were to make a (very uneducated) guess, I'm leaning towards the possibility that my army's morale was lowered (after all, it seems to be raised if you win the duel with another general), but honestly, I've got no clue.

Actually, I think it is more like, we have three kingdoms who oppose each other, but are all pro-Han, they just are not on the same page regarding who should control the empire or somesuch.
And then the anti-Han.
So it is like, a four-faction battle, except three of the factions are half-way united in their hate of the fourth? I guess?

So we have the 3 kingdoms (Wu, Shu, Wei) and possibly a fourth (Yellow Turbans). Based on the flavour text, it sounds like the Yellow Turbans are it, though.

Hi. As a heads-up, I won't be around a whole lot today or tomorrow, but I'll try to check in at least twice a day.
Doesn't sound to me like a duel-- sounds more like an ambush of some sort.
QUOTE
As the gathered armies assemble on the battlefield, a sudden rumble shakes the land as a nearby mountain pass suffers a devastating rockslide. When the dust settles, Ssaliss and his army can be seen having just passed through before the rocks fell... but some of his rear guard were not so fortuitous.
The battle continues...

Ssaliss2011-02-17 14:54:48
Yeah. I'm assuming that wasn't a duel; the part about the duel that I wrote was just to explain why I thought the morale was lowered. Doubt it was an ambush either; it happened so fast after the day started that I assume it's just a random occurence.
Diamondais2011-02-17 14:56:13
Okay, so the yellow turban rebellion would be the rebels I'm guessing? That we're defending the Han empire from, also nature seems to hate us (hi mr. random rockslide!).
Right then, don't know the source stuff so I'm probably going to get confused often with the names.
Nothing personal, but I've rolled a 12 from Random dot org:
Order Army To Attack Sylandra

Hrm, if Ssaliss can still talk despite being trapped behind the ambush, maybe the effect is that his troops (AKA vote) has been removed for the day?
Maybe Ssaliss can random vote someone, then when we get a vote count, see if his vote counts?

Ssaliss2011-02-17 15:05:38
Hmm. Perhaps. Let's try.
Order Army To Attack Caerulo
If someone else puts a vote on him, I'll remove mine, or if it gets close to a deadline.

Uh oh, I appear to have stepped into the most complicated game ever for my first. Let me try get this straight,
- 4 factions at least, 3 pro-Han, 1 anti-Han?
- No one knows which faction anyone is on, unless they choose to claim. Are anti-Han exception to this rule?
Also, my first game, so I'm likely to be very cautious about voting, claiming, etc.

My guess would be that they know eachother. That is generally the case with scum groups, and since the rules still state that some people can talk during night using PMs, I think it's fair to assume this also applies to this round. As for the rest... yeah, seems accurate enough from what I've seen.
