I've had Minecraft for awhile, but I can't stay engaged in single player mode for very long. It's so much better to explore with friends. And I mean on a fresh, new server. The big city servers are totally pointless; all their 'features' don't actually add anything legitimate to the game, the other players are probably less than 14 years old (heaven forbid they get admin powers in this condition) and there's not even any wilderness left to explore by the time you get there.

This is a game about an open world. Wilderness! That shouldn't be ruined.

Waiting for saplings to grow is horribly slow, btw.

EDIT: Never ever ever ever play with fire when your entire project consists of trees. /cry

That reminds me.. Do any Lusty players have a sever up and going? I want to play one, but I can never find one that isn't infested with building-destroying trolls.

It's actually pretty easy to get one up and running, looks like. Forward the port, run minecraft_server.exe, give people your IP address. It'll obviously work better if you have a spare server laying around you can dedicate to it, but should run ok on your desktop.

I've been trying to get Wuylinfe to play with me, but he hasn't gotten Minecraft yet, so I can't really test if mine is working. sad.gif

Bah. But oh well, I guess the respite from monsters will be rather relaxing.

Still, it is not really the same without the imminent threat of seeing everything beautiful you have created blow up.
