By the flavor comment, Kira meant that she was disassociating cards from roles. In game, the cards have very strong associations with certain characters, like Revolution with Aegina/Yggdra, Crusade with Yggdra, Steal with Milanor, Genocide with Golcasta, Gravity Chaos with Emily, Blizzard with the undine girl, Chariot with Durant, etc. I believe Kira is instead going with a random assignment procedure to prevent us from determining scum by looking at our card names (see sign up thread).

My opinions on scum are that they will either be villains (Golcasta, Emily, Aegina, the other assassin chick, Balthazar) or party members who started as villains that eventually turned (Cruz, the assassin chick that joins you).

Hi, checking in.
Razenth2011-03-16 23:18:02
I'm sorry, not Cruz, Russel. The Imperial fencer who turns.
Arix2011-03-16 23:30:43
Arix is here! He is not familiar with the Yggdra games so please bear with him
Arix2011-03-16 23:31:20
Also, for fun, Arix will be referring to Arix in the third person from now on
Ssaliss2011-03-16 23:35:06
I will also refer to Arix in the third person. Just saying.
Llesvelt2011-03-16 23:37:10
Why does Arix refer to Arix in third person? Llesvelt is intrigued.
Arix2011-03-16 23:39:11
Arix is not going to random vote, because most random votes aren't actually random, the players just vote for who they want and say it's random
Gleip2011-03-16 23:43:38
Arix is Nietzsche!!

At least, I know Nietzsche spoke in third person.
Llesvelt2011-03-16 23:44:52
You sure it is an indication of that?
Arix2011-03-16 23:53:07
Arix is not Nietsche. Arix's speech pattern is not indicative of his character, or so he is told

Vote: Razenth

Kira stated many times that the cards in the sign up thread would mean nothing, and that using it to base any decision would be simply laughable. In addition, she has clearly stated that we will not be able to figure out scum based solely on flavour. A rolename is pure flavour, and it would be way too obvious a clue.

And no, Arix may not be Nietzsche. Kira may just have tossed the third person posting restriction onto a random person to confuse us, but speaking in third person was Nietzsche's trait.

Wow Gleip, you can't read.
Razenth2011-03-17 00:00:13
My comment was clarifying for Lilia. Jumping the gun a little?
Llesvelt2011-03-17 00:03:01
Jumping the gun indeed.

Well, that's as suspicious as it gets day one, Llesvelt thinks.

VOTE GLEIP
Ileein2011-03-17 00:04:43
Yeah, uh. That comment by Razenth was basically the opposite of what you thought it was, Gleip.

Really?
Ssaliss2011-03-17 00:07:22
Well, jumping the gun is just Gleip being Gleip, I think. He tends to be aggressive.

On the note of who's scum and who isn't... I must admit, I'm following Razenth's logic there slightly. The cards we picked (or were assigned, depending on how you look at it) during signup most likely has absolutely nothing at all with who we are. However, given my role, I'm inclined to believe that the scum here are the Bad Guys ™ in the game (which might be the people Razenth mentioned; I honestly have no clue).

I am, however, suspicious of Razenth for a whole other reason: Directly after my reveal, he asked about me being immune to day/nightkills, and was willing to write me off as lost. Huh?
Diamondais2011-03-17 00:11:38
That would definitely be a better reason to take a closer look, with the best of luck we will nab a scum.
Razenth2011-03-17 00:16:38
I was worried because it seems amazingly counterproductive to reveal you without giving you protection against night/daykills, especially since you're town. It's basically like saying, HI SCUM TARGET ME. If you didn't have any protection, you're basically scum's first nightkill target (assuming they have one) since you're not only our delicious leader figure, but you're most def town. That's why I would write you off as lost if you didn't have any protection.

I'll admit though, that in retrospect, it's kind of shady to ask you whether you have it or not, ha.
