As a player who spent a good deal of her time in Gaudiguch, and alted somewhat in Hallifax, this is an uncalled for change.
Particularly obnoxious is the loss of non personal, non credit investment that undoubtedly went in to each of the year-old organizations.
Regrettably, it has been shown time and again how hard it is to get the administration to change their minds on topics like this.
I am personally disappointed that we seem to have spent so much time trying to destroy anything combat-useful in the new orgs.
Lethargy on the part of players was a factor, certainly, but I cannot but help feel that such persons are not truly at fault.

Feather-light administrative intervention is certainly somewhat to blame. There was a nasty habit of leaving OOC wounds to fester.
Other factors certainly include the disadvantages faced by poor plane design, and the absence of bards and monks hindering org defense.
On the other hand, the player base has felt streched particularly thin. The new orgs, in particular, often simply lack enough warm bodies.
Lamentably, some elements of the playerbase saw far too easy a target in hitting the new orgs, making their attempts to grow ever harder.
Sadly, I can't help but feel that this outcome was inevitable. Its just a shame it had to fall in so heavy-handed a fashion.

Party time! Come on Gaudi, go with a bang! Halli can be the wallflowers.
Ssaliss2011-04-01 19:59:13
Aww, dammit. What'll happen with the shops in Halli? Will the shopowners be reimbursed?

Only if they are Hallifaxians or Gaudiguchians. Outside investors are not included.

sad.gif Any Hallis want to buy a Halli shop?
Esano2011-04-01 20:08:36
Here's an idea: make them personally-owned shops which can be transferred by the owner alone, leave them in the village!city. We can have village shops that stock more than comms! There might be some problems with people going AWOL and not passing their shop on, but I expect something could be developed to handle that. Perhaps prevent these shopowners from using price adjustments so that they can't block out the org who owns the village, and have to stock and price accordingly for a neutral shop.

It confuses me that people have responded to this in any other way than "Ah, had me going for a second before I spotted the date."

People sounds almost serious o.0
Neos2011-04-01 20:10:41
Can we "accidentally" throw all the monks in there?

Because it is deadly serious, Lawliet.

I endorse this decision, so long as I get to be one of the villagers.

The mods were deleting and editing postings mentioning this as an April's Fool's joke so they could "have more fun" tongue.gif

(And these two could disappear as well).

What if another person with a huge credit refund was going for it, too? tongue.gif

I think you got it all correct, right from the start.

You mean you're not already a denizen? Are you sure? I'm pretty certain you are.
Ileein2011-04-01 21:49:50
Just so long as it stays that way.
Janalon2011-04-01 23:34:46
Is there anyway the new skillsets can live in some other way? Maybe be moved as secondary or terts? Move some of these classes to other orgs? Don't think it'll be likely at all... but it was worth asking. Will there be an event to run these orgs back to ruin... or will it be delete and forget it ever happened?
