I was going to read the article and then maybe vote for it or whatever it is you do on Digg, but then I found out I would have to register so I didn't.

You can use your Facebook account or I wouldn't have bothered either.
Kiradawea2011-04-28 11:14:07
You can now get a free credit for doing the regular vote, instead of nothing, and yet you complain? Reeeally. No wonder Estarra so easily dismisses initial complaints.

Okay, so the Digg articles aren't as bad as I expected. I've always been rather amused by the articles, but it would be nice if some of them were more... relevant to Lusternia, or more serious. That's all I have to say on the matter. smile.gif

I think the more serious criticism is a good one. My only problem with the articles so far is that they seem to be very trite and hastily written. I don't think the grammar or writing style is appalling, it just feels like not a lot of thought went into the content. I think something that could really help the articles is some examples from the writers actual experience playing an IRE game. Include some screenshots or something! It would really make the articles feel more relevant to IRE. They just seem kind of generic at the moment.

My issue is that the majority of them are just badly written, extensive jokes. tongue.gif

You know what would make good Digg articles? The Lusternian Divine blog posts.

Wait, blog?

Also, the articles come up sometimes on SU.

We're not complaining about the credit promotion or that our free stuff isn't good enough, we're complaining that this advertising campaign is pretty lame and also lacks any focus on our game.

I'm sort of annoyed that the facebook app was taken down. My guess is a certain group of individuals were caught abusing the system.

When it comes down to it, that app was reaching far more potential players than the digg articles ever will. For every 100 people that clicked Ignore, at least 10 of them must have checked it out, and at least 1 must have enjoyed playing. That's 1 player IRE could have counted playing their games.

Thanks guys.

Maybe those complaining about the quality of the articles can submit some of their own? And what spam is everyone on about? Also, for the double login, if you go to digg and select to stay logged in there then you won't get it anymore. Or just save the login in your (browser) password manager.

I use the IRE Facebook app almost every day... to invite random people and get free credits. I stopped voting on TMS months ago, though.

It spams you twice when you log on to go digg, each is three lines, I think. Honestly, I'm not going to bother because I'd first have to make a digg account (right?) then laboriously copy and paste the url, and then vote on that web page, and so on. At least with TMC, I could just use the handy dandy bookmark button and in two clicks be done with voting. I really see no reason to mess with it, I'm probably going to gag the in game message, and if I notice something looks interesting from the ire general website, I'll click it and read it then, when I am in a mood to read it and not in a mood to play Lusternia.

EDIT: If there was a place that auto-linked you to the most recent post, that would be simpler. And CAN we submit stuff that we write? I assume we can, but where is it?
Calixa2011-04-29 21:07:26
www.ironrealms.com/Digg should autolink you to the newest post, bookmark that, then after it says you voted you can click through to the article and comment. Maybe I don't see the ingame message because I usually see articles in my Facebook feed first. Also, as mentioned, if you got Twitter or Facebook you can sign in with that.

For 100cr (minimum) per article, I would, and I'd probably request 100cr per x amount of words.
Enyalida2011-04-30 17:53:59
I'd do it for free, if I felt I had something interesting to say, and would get feedback on it/my writing.
Aerotan2011-05-01 05:24:06
I'd do it if I didn't worry about the things I'd say being associated with such works as 'things to do in the event of a zombie apocalypse in a text game.' >.>
Gleip2011-05-01 13:48:40
Yeah, no kidding. It's like IRE is actively trying to appear completely moronic.
Calixa2011-05-01 19:36:36
Zombie apocalypse *faceplam* Ok, this is even testing me now sad.gif
Xenthos2011-05-01 19:51:24
Does it include "invent and then utilize a chainsaw"?
