What is this for?
As for numbers, Eventru said earlier that the scale has been expanded tenfold, so before the cap for honour was 5k, and it's now 50k... hence larger numbers.

Sounds like it's the race bonus. Or maybe the historical family thing if that's been put in yet (no new newsposts, so I'm guessing the race thing!)

But families who have not yet set a race got the bonus.
Diamondais2011-05-03 09:26:39
Maybe a kink in the code? Good breeding just sounds like race.
Rika2011-05-03 09:32:34
Maybe that's the reason for the incredible gains.

Could the amount of power added be noted in the log entries?

Limp Usurper bonus /joke
Edit: Holy nilcakes! I just saw the month change additions, that's a lot! Also, order leaders are not being given gains if they already hold an org elected position, intended?
Edit2: I think they manually added something for this weave. Starleaf went from -10,000 to 1310 honour instantly.
Diamondais2011-05-03 09:48:08
Are the updated help files on the new website?
Raeri2011-05-03 09:54:27
Oh, that's a good point. It might refer to holding elected positions.

People who live in glass houses should pull the blinds. No one wants to see that.
Seriously though... clarification on that number would be dandy. I really don't think it's races or elected positions because Eventru said earlier it would be 50/person of that race credited at the weave.
Also - I think starleaf got the 10k back for switching race much earlier. They were at 0 and got 1310 at change of month.

Edit: Fixed

I demand Viynain research this and add all related information to his website.

There was a bit of a goof with setting race that resulted in going from 0 to -10,000 shortly after the changes were implemented. The admin were nice and reset the honour to 0 but it was made very clear that it was a one time only thing.
Eventru2011-05-03 12:11:48
Looks like there was a bug - 'good breeding' is supposed to be racial bonus. My guess, without looking, is it kept adding, so everyone was getting the gains of all the previous houses (Oops).
Position/Race is +50 each - which may or may not go down (we'll see).
And I'm certain we increased the threshold for the council seat - I'll look into it.
Also I lied, the cap on honour is 200,000 - not 50,000. Bigger than I remembered! Rewards like 'Ruling Council' should come in around 150k.

What's the natural decay? High enough to matter, or just something that will take inactive families down?

It's a few hundred as I recall, but it only occurs if they don't have any gains (except racial).

and leaders?
Shiri2011-05-03 12:54:30
Leaders can get removed by people outside the family if they're inactive, so why?

It, can be, a sit around and do nothing though. Just want to confirm if it is passive generation that doesn't count or just races.
Eventru2011-05-03 13:05:01
The only gains are those that are passive and require no effort. (Just Racial, right now)
If someone can sit in an elected position without doing anything, then, well, they must be doing something right!

It's all looking pretty neat at this point. I'll just be curious to see how big of a bite decay is once everything starts moving, as well as bonus and malus effects.
What's the cap for honour on lesser houses relative to great houses?

Lesser houses cap out past level 2 or so - Great Houses cap past level 5. 50,000 and 200,000, respectively.
We may play with the numbers a bit, we'll see.
