No. Illusions does nothing. It has no mechanical effect except on tricking a system. And a solid system won't fall to illusions

Isn't that Lerad's point?

A solid system can still get tricked by illusions. Did you even read what I wrote? Without a solid system, you can get dismantled by illusions. Illusions add a layer of artificial barrier for entry into combat. Without certain checks, any illusionist can break your rudimentary system into pieces and throw you into the toilet bowl. That is this thread: how to improve firstaid (and thus make entry level combat easier).

The other side of the coin is that even with the best system out there, illusions can still have an effect. There is no 100% failsafe, illusion-proof system. To believe otherwise is to be delusional. And this effect of illusions on combat MUST be considered in overall combat balance, so removing illusions must be monitored and adjusted by the envoys.

I've actually asked for this before regarding Firstaid, but a generic message when an affliction is cured would make FirstAid a little easier to use. That way, you only "need" two triggers to handle all afflictions, and don't have to play "gotta catch'em all" with trigger lines. Which, of course, can be somewhat of a bother when there's 289 different afflictions around (which was my count from the wiki when I first tried to make a system).

For some reason I thought we had it, but it may have been thinking of this as a good thing to do while I was coding FirstAid. This could potentially be added.

Firstaid is an excellent resource, and I could see it definitely making building a system for new players much easier. You can easily utilize the functions to add afflictions you've caught with triggers and cure them with the curequeue. However it does have a few notable flaws.

A.) Slickness curing doesn't utilize cleanse when it's necessary, and is poorly prioritized.
B.) The absence of the use of powercures.
C.) Lack of tolerance of curequeue to aeon/choke/sap (suggest that it only evaluates one action at a time when the queue has aeon/sap/choke in it.)

I'd like to see what others have to say on this amazing skill and how to make it more effective as a tool for players both new and old. The expansion of firstaid and the universal application of affmessages are one of the things I'd love to see most.

Definitely should do A and B... there may be conditions created by new afflictions which were not updated. I do remember complaints about B that it did use Gedulah when a lock was encountered.

Can you expand on C?

I can see not spamming powercures, but who would rather be locked and therefore probably dead then use it when you need to?

Also, regeneration-curing doesn't work very well. I've got a longer log, but this is the core of it:

This has been fixed and will be loaded in the near future! don-t_mention.gif
Ssaliss2011-07-13 01:43:59
thumup.gif Now all we need is a more complete affmessages system (i.e. including mobs) and a generic cure message, and my plan will be complete... deal.gif

Sior: What I meant in point C) was that even when aeon/choked/sapped it still spams through the whole cure sequence all at once, and often (such as in aeon/sap) the relevant cure is the first to go through, which is blocked by the effects of aeon/sap by the following cures immediately attempted. In choke it's a bit more inconsequential, since curing choke is impossible. It just means that the cure that goes through is always the last one on the firstaid list, rather than by any sort of priority. Like I said, it's more of a problem with the cures for aeon/sap getting blocked out by other afflictions that immediately follow.
