Which is the most empty city?

by Morbo

Back to Common Grounds.

I hate to agree with Morbo (damn you Morbo, damn you straight to hell), but yeah, Hallifax has been a bit thin on the ground recently. Also, a lot of my old friends from way back when have just come back... Have they all been alting in Hallifax and not telling me?! D:

On way more than one occasion I've popped up at a reasonable hour and been "Greetings, Hal- Nope, wait, it's just one other person.", or I haven't noticed that I'm speaking to myself and then apologise to thin air...

I'm hoping this is just a lull due to things like the exam period, Dunno about you crazies across the pond but here in England we're in the middle of exams.

Personally, I think Hallifax/Gaudi needs more organizations to get people interested in it. I've watched Halli/Gaudi since the day they came out, and literally waited for years for a Monk guild in either city to join and start my game here in Lusty. In the end, I lost patience and conceded to the fact that you guys may never get additional guild orgs until the year 2050+, and just picked one of the available monk orgs in the realms to get started.

I know adding two extra guild orgs may not solve the population probs that Hallifax is experiencing, but it might just help a teensy bit. Just having a two factions (Warriors and Guardians) is not enough to attract the interest of new players, or even give players a reason to stay should they become dissatisfied with either of those two guild orgs. More variety and thus more options to choose is always better in my book.

More guilds does not equate to more people really. It equates to the same number of people (in general) spread out over a wider area... meaning each is emptier.

Hallifax and Serenwilde seem to be a bit empty... yes Celest does have its empty moments, like this morning when I logged on and I was the only Aquamancer and there were... four people or so awake and I was like, "WHERE IS EVERYONE?! O_O" then I remembered it was Sunday.

If course. I agree that it's not the solution. But would have gathered the interest of a small percentage of individuals like myself to join if they had offered the archetype guild I was looking for.

Only emptier guildwise. Citywise, I've had a couple people say that they were going to come to Hallifax once we got bards, so maybe some people are just waiting to come over to Halli and Gaudi once they get the guild they are interested in, which means a less empty city.

*agrees with Arel* I want my Bladed Tonfa wielding Hallifaxian Guild! sad.gif

edit: Though I'm really really enjoying my time in the Shofangi at the moment.

I've already seen the kata spec. It only has two skills: assimilate and adapt.

We've got three guilds each, actually. You forgot mages.

Tonfa, bladed or not, are the weapon of the uncivilised barbarian.

Hallimonks will have sai.

Nope, we'll have chakrams, for a lot of good reasons having to do with their shape, chakras, and associations that can be drawn with mandalas. But mostly because of this.

Ytran2011-06-06 04:27:26
Chakrams are far, far less versatile than the sai, in addition to looking far less badass.

^Fear, terror and badassery.

Perhaps on the badassery aspect. Sai are most definitely more useful and versatile weapons in hand-to-hand combat, tho.

No, we will use scarves.

Edit: Or is that a ribbon? I have no idea.
Lilia2011-06-06 04:39:31
I always imagine Hallibards using staffs, but that's just because of Daraius.

Hachimaki or bandana.

And censor.gif bandanas or big robots, all you need is some weird oyaji with two balls in his hand to blow crap up.

So long as Gaudi monks get to be V for Vendetta (see sig links!)

I think it fits pretty well. Give them explosives to go with the fire theme too. Be Anarchists.

What I definitely don't want to see is drunken monks. Blech. We all know how that would end up being played out.

I think someone from the same series I linked before is a good fit too.

Giant butterfly of death.

I don't see how ye can look civilized lookin' like a turtle wieldin' a sai. >_> I'll have to Agree with Daraius on this one.

A stealth monk guild with a V for Vendetta theme would be pretty interesting!
Unknown2011-06-06 04:55:13
Pretty sure Halli's gonna get harmony and gaudi stealth.
