Wiccans don't have real daggers, just athames. But telekinetics have daggers, so it's just as good.
I'm not sure if "but that picture is too old" really tells us anything: we saw that trill picture ages before anyone had any good reason to think the Institute would end up matching it, and for a long time, people thought the gems thing was just a fancy of the artist, when it turned out to be part of The Original Vision™. That said, daggers are sufficiently generic that it could go either way.

Oh, I always that was how it was going to be.

Keep in mind that picture was made long before Gaudiguch was around. The dagger is likely more related to stealth in general than Gaudi's spec. (since traditionally daggers are much more easy to hide on yourself than a sword of some sort).
Be like me saying Hallifax will have a machete spec because that is what it looks like the kephera has in his picture. It is there just to look nice.

Check out the Trill pic, released some time around open beta. These things are planned in a way that puts the Cylons to shame.

They resembled butterfly swords to me. But those things are lame so I hope he's a BM.
Anyway, we'll see how it works out in a couple years, probably

I never noticed this before. Interesting.

I knew that one, but the daggers are as everyone said, horrifyingly generic.
(Or it could have gone the other way and the spec was taken from the pictures. )

Estarra's mentioned there being unreleased archetype(s) beyond our current 5(ish, 7 if you count druid/wicca as separate), and I remember her, in the distant past, saying all of the pictures were made with future classes in mind (even the Kephera/Illithoid pictures were made at the same time, iirc).

Speaking of daggers. I read a book once, where they used daggers they struck together, creating a harmonic humming thing that guided them in battle, and they bonded to their special weapon. Everything is probably at least sketched out already, but it was pretty cool.

That is kind of scary.

Crysknifes for Gaudi monks.
Illidor2011-08-13 22:49:00
Wind and Fire wheels? Perhaps?
Unknown2011-08-13 22:55:03
I still want Hallifax monks to use attack fans.
EDIT: Also, the lucidian racial portrait has the Aeromancer staff in it. That's even more obvious than the guardian trill, I'd say!

Wouldn't work because there aren't any people in Hallifax as hot as Kitana.
Seriously, no one in Hallifax looks like this.
Casilu2011-08-13 23:12:37
I'm pretty sure Ileein does.
Illidor2011-08-13 23:21:05
Dracnari pic has the Pyromancer staff.

No way in Nil can Gaudimonks be as utterly hardcore as Fremen. One can wish, though! (and I really do hope both cities get awesome monk guilds eventually)
