Oh god so many buttery tears over a break in, I'd hate to see what fits you guys will pitch over something more important than someone exploring your rooms.

Hey, I'm not the one calling people little kids in high school or college ;) Maybe you should practice what you preach
rika:
This game would be so much better if getting into places with chaos hamsters is the biggest thing that is "abused".

XarconZ:
Wow! What a reply... Thank you very much for proving my point.

I'm in neither college or high school.
Game. Set. Match.

Xenthos2012-02-09 00:02:39
Kindergarten?
Neos2012-02-09 00:04:25
Xenthos:
Kindergarten?
But I troll at an 8th grade level. (doesn't feel witty enough, but it will do for now)
Ytran2012-02-09 00:04:31
Xenthos:
Kindergarten?
Third grade, obviously.

Xenthos:
Your point is that you called someone a cheater and they hit back?
Not much of a point. I'd call that 'expected'.
I called it a cheater because that is what MY perception of the situation is. It replied with a response that made no sense talking about abusing bugs and credit card scams which are established forms of 'cheating'.
The 'cheating' I am talking about is exactly what Lavinya pointed out in her post. It is a gray area where mechanical use of certain skills should NOT interfere with certain Arpee elements in the game.
Clearly, I made it upset...
Unknown2012-02-09 00:07:58
Seriously, so he got in and bought a beast.
So, people go after the skill that allowed it. But it isn't a unique mechanic, and saying "if it were done with a retired artifact, that makes it better"?
Of all the crap that has been done in Lusternia over the years, of all the unnecessary things that annoy and frustate, this thing shouldn't even be a rest stop on the highway of Obnoxious-66.
What surprises me is that him being able to purchase it was an option in the first place. Getting in to hard to reach areas is hardly new territory. Heck, Ixion must have slipped in to a few places by some means or another to hold on to his #1 spot.

Ixion definitely has.
Also, I note that you start out by calling him a cheater, and then move on to trying to strip gender identity. Good show.

It's doing its part to smash the pointless societal conceit of "gender". Join us, Xenthos, and help us create a brighter tomorrow for all

I'm just so angry man, I have to lash out by getting into new rooms :(
In fact, I'm so angry, I'm gonna call everyone a cheater and then call them 'it'.
So. Very. Angry. >:-(
Here is a moustache guy for those who appreciate them - >:-{(
Maybe it's cause I wasn't hugged enough as a child.

Let's all start using the spivak pronouns.
Talan2012-02-09 00:22:55
Sorry about your temple. I know I've hated it when people have broken into my patron's. The intention was to be quickly and silently in and out, and no one would have been the wiser. It was the whole getting caught thing that caused the kerfuffle. Also, don't hate the player, hate the metagame (but hate yourselves too, if you do that. Don't be hypocrites).

Personally, I'm eating popcorn.
Sylphas2012-02-09 00:44:26
Wait, this was all about breaking in to explore? Psh. Last time I had that issue I just skunked all of Moondance Tower and then showed them around so they'd stop trying to break in by following people or otherwise being jackasses. Takes half an hour, solves the problem without drama.
Lawliet2012-02-09 00:45:10
Someone told me things were getting out of hand, and to go look :P
So... Who went where and did what?
In this debate I'm on the side of "...So fricken what?" to abilities/artifacts that move people around like the hamster does, it's not terribly game breaking and so far as order areas go... Put in the work and you'll be able to get in there normally, don't whine because someone else had it easier than you, we get Demigods because of aether hunting, we have quests that had to be completed that were broken (damn you, Malacoda) and... I can't think of a third point, I'm sure there is one. At any rate sometimes things are harder for you than there are for others, as someone that's been on both sides of that I say: Deal with it. Same goes for being kicked off of aether bubbles and the like.
As for order beasts (I think some people are raging over that), I most certainly would prefer if those WERE order only, if I was the God that put the work in to make one as a cool treat I'd be somewhat annoyed if someone had circumnavigated what I'd put in place to make it order only, even if they were rather weak.
As for my actual tweet/rave: Blimey I've been given a lot of bookbinding work today, looks like everyone saved it up just for today :)

No... I know exactly what Ixion is talking about. And what occured should be a shrubbed offense.
Sorry, but I just have to giggle at this amidst all the displeasure being vented on the thread. If that should be a shrubbable offense, then anyone who's ever used that dingbat hamster best turn leafy as well. After all, trying to differentiate one method of breaking into an inner temple from another would just be silly.
Or how did that argument go? It's cheating if someone other than you does it, but it's clever use of skills when you do it yourself?
Unknown2012-02-09 00:51:40
I'm not 100% sure on this, but doesn't the Observatory teleporter also dump you in a random room as well?
Unknown2012-02-09 01:00:16
Remember that one time that one guy got into that one order's inner temple, got the scrolls/books from their bookshelf (since restrictions don't actually work with those, and never have, for some reason), copied them, and set forth with lots of gloating over market about selling said order's secrets?
Nothing new here.
Nothing new here.

Of course, ICly, this is grounds for holy war.
