Back to Common Grounds.

See though, I sincerely doubt many true newbies (as defined by the priv that lets me find city newbies) would have a chance to earn enemy statuses, and still be considered a newbie. It makes sense to me, to have someone that people can go to as a point of contact for unenemying, that they can determine by reading the org help file. Also, the title itself implies that they have a diplomatic funtion between orgs or at least their own org and players. I don't know, this is just my opinion.

"We're on.. a diplomatic... mission to Alderaan..."

"IF THIS IS A COUNSELOR SHIP, WHERE IS THE AMBASSADOR!?!?!?"
Lilia2012-02-12 19:03:47
Hallifax changed that a while ago, because it didn't make any sense. Our Ambassador has no authority to unenemy people, that all goes through the champions.
Enyalida2012-02-12 19:21:38
We generally have the Ambassador just run anyone wanting to be unenemied through their paces before poking one of the MC. So you don't waste your time badgering one of us to realize you don't qualify to be unenemied anyways.

I don't really know of anyone who uses their Ambassador as an actual ambassador to their allied nations. I think Mag soooorta did once, but none of the allied nations were particularly willing to deal with an appointed position.
Naia2012-02-12 23:49:21
People wanting to be unenemied tend to approach the ambassador first. So that perception needs adjustment.

A little disappointed that I did not place full stop in the Seal of Beauty challenge, but those are the breaks I guess. Best of luck to those that DID win seals.

(That being said, I'd like to know how a double-helix can be fashioned into a viable instrument.)
Unknown2012-02-13 00:23:59
Take a look at the design before complaining. It might make sense if you do!
Ssaliss2012-02-13 00:25:15
It's not awfully hard to imagine a double-helix instrument. Perhaps a bit tricky to play, but viable.
Lavinya2012-02-13 00:29:18
That's exactly what I said when asked. No doubt it would be harder to play than a traditional lyre, but it is possible.
Ayisdra2012-02-13 00:41:41
Yay, Not placing and another design in my cartel that will never be made. Not that I had that high of hopes of winning, with all the rage I went with in getting my submission approved.
Unknown2012-02-13 00:55:43
I put two months of effort and many revisions into last year's design. I was hopeful. In the end, it didn't make it. This year, I submitted two others, with very little hope. Again, didn't make it.

I think I just suck at English.

I know, I feel like I don't even have proper English skills for Beauty.
Naia2012-02-13 02:58:22
I went into this series (my first) of Seal events assuming that placing would be unattainable and just entered to participate kind of thing. I think I submitted three Beauty designs and none of them consumed much time or thought. It was fun seeing things I designed get created.

I disagree with my assumption now. I think it is attainable if you put the effort in. I know Eli slaved over his entry. I also think sucking at English doesn't matter. If you can visualise something clearly in your mind, there are plenty of people who can help with the phrasing.

I remember when everybody WASN'T a CR6, and it kind of depresses me to see so many on :\\ It makes me think that our newbie hose is slowly getting smaller and smaller.

Mhmm, I find that it helps to have a series of similar things to look at (go go google images) as you design things, even if the designs are impossible IRL! This is especially true of artisan or tailor things, I find that looking at a real piece of furniture, or an instrument, or fashion helps you to cover all the bases you want to cover with your 'imaginary' creation.

Shh, all of you stay quiet. You'll ruin my plan to slowly steal power from the rest of the city and transfer it to the Ambassador. And then the part where I try to kill everyone begins...

My design is below; sure I put time into. Is it something that shows I suck at English? Maybe, I would like to think other wise, but with all the rage I had in getting it approve might say other wise. Now seeing as this didn't place, and it is in my private cartel, I doubt there will even be a physical make of the crown, so if it is indeed ugly and I am just aweful at this design thing, no one will be able to say otherwise.

While I'm posting, I guess feedback and such on the design would be good to know.

Appearance:
a crown of the Nine Seals
Dropped:
The Crown of the Nine Seals shines brightly as it rests in this location, proudly displaying its elegant detail of Ascensions past.
Examined:
This golden nine-point crown is an elegant dedication to the Nine Seals,
imperiously displaying scenes of those who fight to empower the Seals.
Each point is forged to the base of this crown with melted gemstones of
the corresponding point. At the apex of each point is one of the Nine
Seals, each painstakingly carved in detail and perfection with a
different gemstone for each. Around the base of this crown is the story
of Lusternia, detailing the past calls for a mortal to Ascension. One
scene tells of Muud's rising, with mortals are venturing across his
back, not knowing it is him. The scenes flow onward to the false gods
that resulted from mortal praise to their Patrons. The final scene shows
the recent resurgence of Zenos and the release of the voices of Hallifax
and Gaudiguch as they sang out Zenos' defeat, giving way to new songs
within the Basin. Each scene has been carved in a different vibrant
tint, drawing the eye to the scene of the first time the Seals weakened.
The colours flow and change softly in unison as time passes to the
current era. Etched into the metal above the each scene is the True
Ascendant of that era rising above all as his mortal body burns away,
the newly strengthened Seals forcing Kethuru back into his prison. A
silhouette is pictured over the scene of Zenos, waiting for the time to
come for the next Ascendant to strengthen the Seals once more, earning
his place among the great.

I like to think I've got a pretty good grasp of the English language and writing and such, but I didn't place, so who really knows what they look for. It was a design I took the last year and this year working on, and I assume the next one, once I figure out what it will be will take about as long to work on if not longer. Just keep writing and jotting down your ideas! You never know if you'll be lucky.

Two straight years unable to participate in Justice. :(
Naia2012-02-13 06:59:23
You mean Injustice (cough, cough).
