Generally the solution is run to the nexus, shield/serpent and hire a ton more guards on top of them. If you're unable to do that, just stay out of the way until raiders leave. They're only guards, they're easy to replace. Ugly in the logs and demoralizing maybe, but you can just hire more.

It takes a single person to defend when you have 20 guards, a statue and Prime protection with the Avenger system. As I explained to Aithera in tells, a person can just web or attempt to hinder in some way. I've done it, I've seen it done. Surprised at the whining on forums when I did attempt to give a tip or two ICly.

Yes and I told her what she could have done. We were also dying to the guards numerous times. It was only a small group.

It ain't whining, and accusing her of doing so is uncalled for. Those situations are rare, and asking for help on what to do in such situations shouldn't draw poisonous jabs.

I actually was asking for advice. I didn't mean it to sound like a whine (although I will admit to a fair amount of frustration, a large part of that is due to my own ignorance, and now that I'm more alert I can understand why people would read it as a whine, particularly in combination with Aithera's rather indignant tell to you in game) I'd only woken up about half an hour before logging in, and was completely caught off guard.
The post was BEFORE you responded to me ig, and by the time you had (and I wasn't being sarcastic when I said I appreciated the tip), the guards were pretty much all dead, and so webbing didn't seem like it would be as helpful, not to mention that I needed to leave anyway.

The whole thing with Mysrai has been hyper-dramatic and, IMHO, an overreaction, but it's an IC overreaction. I'm not mad at any of the players of the characters involved, and I'm certainly not going to quit the game over it. Instead, I'm going to accept Hallifax's excellent offer of "Write an essay about why Gaudiguch sucks, and we'll unenemy you to everything" so that I can join the Institute and get my mad science on.

Yeah, I take that back. Hallifax was not most excellent as expected and the thing with Mysrai labelling me as a delusion and ordering people to not interact with me got old fast. I'm sure she meant well, but folks are just straight up vindictive about this. Yeesh.
