Spoilered because it turned into a longer chunk of whine than I thought it would, and I don't wanna pester anyone with a big whine-wall unless they really want to look at that kind of thing.
Kinda wishing I hadn't bought my surfboard. I mean, I got it because I liked not having to deal with remembering to do waterwalking, and because I thought being able to sprint on water should just be a thing you can do, and now that it is a thing anyone can do, and I do have to think about doing waterwalking, it's just, dang, big expensive chunk of aquamarine junk in my inventory. I could have put a good rune on some jewelry I liked with waterwalking on it if I just wanted an enchantment that lasted forever, and gotten whatever that rune did plus permanent good jewelry to boot.
No, I'm not crazy selfish so I don't think the water sprint thing should be changed-- I'm glad it no longer requires an artifact to do something that anyone with waterwalking on should logically be able to do. I'm just sorta bummed that what was previously one of my more useful artifacts has quickly become one of my most useless. And I own that wind flute.
Pondering trading it in, but I really hate trading in artifacts. It always feels like such a waste. I'm just not really sure what it's good for anymore. :(

Well, you do have the option of asking for a refund. There's certainly precedence set, it's just whether said precedence will apply in this instance.

You don't have to remember to turn on waterwalking if you don't want to. I never actually rub my surfboard. The only time it ever comes into play is if you're walking around in a deluged aqua demesne, at which point you have to rub it; otherwise, ignore away!
