So people who don't happen to live in America shouldn't be allowed to participate in raiding and org conflict, then? Makes sense.
Assuming an even distribution across orgs, all orgs would have similar densities at a given time anyway, so what does it matter? Yes, I'm aware that this assumption doesn't always hold - but expecting people to not participate when they can log in because you (the general you) can't log in is stupid.

This is honestly no fun at all. Way to win a multiplayer game.

There is no winning in Lusternia.
Unless you're Shuyin.
I'm such a non-com that I have to wear special equipment, including a specially made helmet, each time I try to use my staff during hunting.

I'm beginning to wonder if there are any more artist or scientist characters in Hallifax. What are you all doing?

Before this all gets deleted, I guess I'll take this time to mount this very popular, yet rather high, horse: Hallifax could also just say sorry and rejoin the EA!

Phoebus has a note on her "to-do" list to do some paintings for you, but every time I've logged in I've gotten stuck working on something else. It's just not a good time. :/

Different organizations actually do have different distributions, simply because people tend to stick around more often in organizations where there are people who play at the same times as them; which frankly goes more to the point that there are different low-population times for different organizations (which is pretty obviously true), but one generic peak time for the game as a whole.
However, saying that it is 'always 4am' somewhere is just silly, because there is a general peak time in Lusternia and a general off-peak time. If you're someone who is going to complain about off-peak raids, then you'll be doing so during this off-peak time; someone who lives in Australia can't really legitimately complain about an off-peak raid at 9 PM Eastern Standard after all.
To me, off-peak raids happen. They're a part of the game, people like to just go bash NPCs and think that it shows something; I personally prefer to just bash kephs myself, but to each their own.
The only thing that really makes me shake my head is when individuals participate who spend so much time (hours upon hours) railing, whining, complaining, saying how awful and horrible the people who would dare do such a thing are, how they ruin the game, how they are horrible people, how much you hate and loathe their entire organization on all kinds of media (forums, Facebook, google blogs, personal blogs)... are completely happy to do the same thing themselves.
Sometimes people just need to take a step back.

Maybe I was badly explaining my point - I'm not trying to say that there's no such thing as a general peak/off-peak, or anything like that. My issue is the complaining about off-peak raiding like it's some sort of awful taboo that should never be done on fear of pain and death. Lusternia is an international game, ergo there are people who are forced to play during off-peak times. Expecting these players to not involve themselves in the major aspects of the game is not at all realistic. On top of this, there are few ways for these players to actually cause damage to an enemy org in a large scale, due to the numbers and such needed for, say, smob raids - I don't really understand the complaints.

Agreed - I just didn't like being insulted and being called cow dung and other censored things without having a chance to respond, especially when they were complaining about off peak raids when there has been a near 24 hour constant raiding cycle.
Sorry if these posts get deleted, I just had to defend myself, Vera, Xarcon and Thoros, getting insulted for doing an off-peak raid after the past 24 hours was disheartening a lot more then the Necromentate falling.
Unknown2011-07-23 21:13:00
IMO the best parts of offpeak raiding is knowing where (usually in the US) these supposed raiders live.

You put forth a quick semantics-argument to which I had to respond.
Beyond that, I don't disagree with your expanded point at all; it is rather silly to expect people not to play the game off-peak, and raiding is part of the game (this is something that I didn't really agree with at one point, I will admit, but I have come to have a different mindset on it).
I have a lot more problem with constant on-peak and off-peak raids than with the occasional off-peak. One is actually grinding an opponent down, the other is just wanting to 'do something back' which in the end doesn't really have much effect at all. An argument can be made that it's different when in the aftermath of an SMob raid (it's an 'ongoing raid'), but I personally don't buy into that one, especially once the shields have fallen. I haven't exactly been participating in the essence denial myself.

You actually can at least help control these things. If you disapprove of constantly harassing people who are just trying gather essence on their own plane, then let it be known, and let there be consequences when you find out it happened. If you don't do anything to try and change the current attitude, it isn't going to change. With the way things stand now, you really shouldn't be surprised that someone raided to distract people long enough for some essence to be gathered.

Whoa whoa Mr. Defensive.
I just thought that where these raiders live is hilarious when you take into account that the popular counter-argument to this is "But it's gonna be PEAK TIME for someone in AU/NZ/etc!".
