(Magic, DMP, damage boost, travel) active. This should reduce the

I do indeed blame the silly people who have now caused me to choose between my fire crown or my phoenix wings. Boohiss. >(

Those people that got annoyed by it could just gag the lines themselves. With Xiel's site, its not like they are some big secret that you only see when they are fired.

Not everyone knows about the existance of Xiels site as not everyone visits these forums. Particularly newcomers, who could be put off from playing by such insane levels of spammage. In the end there is no need for so many ambient effects firing at the same time. You are also assuming that everyone has knowledge in coding and knows how to gag the lines themself using whatever client they may happen to use. I know that not everyone has coding knowledge, and as far as I am aware, I don't think you CAN gag lines in the nexus client, which some people use. I could be mistaken though.

In any case, it is the Divine's decision and it looks like they have indeed decided.

It seems like if upon activation the curio would have a random delay between three and fifteen minutes to firing the ambient, it would remove the wall-o-ambient message without forcing people to pick and choose between their curios.

Editing curios is a real chore - one has to edit a hundred or so individual scripts every time they make a change to them all, by simple virtue of how they're done.

But after being subjected to the spam first-hand and realizing that person only had 5 or 6 going, and seeing how many some people had, and a couple months of complaining about it, it was finally time to bite that bullet. We'd talked about it, and this seemed like the best way to go about it. Anything else would've taken zounds more effort. I did briefly consider limiting to one of each type (magic/dmp/offense/travel), but we may add new types in the future and I hope we don't really need to go back and edit these again.

I'm also certain people would complain if there was an ambient message 3-15 minutes after activation - for some people, that's as many as 70-80 curios. Instead of the spam being condensed to once an hour, it'd be constant.

No, better we bit it now, instead of later when there are more curios out there.

Well, I for one thank you for limiting the curio ambients. Hallelujah, praise the Havens, etc.
