You should have mechanisms in place to deal with that! I know I do.

Before the Megalith of Doom.
Rising up from cracks in the floor, the Megalith of Doom towers above everything here, polluting the
air with its foul fumes. There are 28 Ur'Guard Grand Marshals here. Exuding pure malignancy, a
ghastly altar awaits the slaughter. There are 2 wights here. There are 10 illithoid reavers here. 2
Ur'Guard Grand Marshals are here, sleeping soundly. Apprentice Kalas Liok is here. He wields a
tombstone shield in his left hand and a twisted staff in his right.
You see exits leading southeast and southwest.
The raucous notes of a wild song assail your senses, leaving you stunned.
An Ur'Guard Grand Marshal says, "Ever have blood running out of your ears, Aeral? If you break the
law, you'll experience it. Trust me."

An illithoid reaver whips you with an iron chain, lashing the skin from your arms.
You vision is thrown off kilter as an Ur'Guard Grand Marshal smites you hard in the face with a
brutal swing of her flail.
An Ur'Guard Grand Marshal swings two large flails at you, crushing your gut and chest. You grimace
from the enraged blow.

You have been slain by an Ur'Guard Grand Marshal.
You become visible once more.
You come back into focus as the blur illusion vanishes.
Within the blink of an eye, your phantom armour dissipates into the aether.
The corpse of an enormous gorgog falls out of your inventory.

Wow, people kind of turn into pricks over the Great Hunt.
QUOTE (Sojiro @ Jul 31 2011, 03:53 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
It is very surprising that credits are serious business.
I figured this out- if I was making a wage (salary is in actuality the devil sometimes) equivalent to what the old contract union people are making where I work, and worked three 8 hour shifts with no overtime during the great hunt, I would make enough to buy 1000 credits with a bit left over. This would be a sure thing with no risk of failure or losing.
If I was the most meager of part time employees, and worked the same, I would do about half that, again, not accounting for over time, and in both cases, leaving some out for social security and such.
So, rather than getting all angsty about getting jumped or having mobs stolen or all the other crap? Go put on a beany and swallow your pride for a little bit, earn some spending money, and huzzah. Honestly, if I were paid by the hour, I'd rather be at work than clawing people's eyeballs out over bashing grounds.
Of course, I'm not paid by the hour, and I was at work all weekend ANYWAY, but I digress.

Not that I was going to buy from Jeremiah, but sad to see his stock disappear too. (as I saw those ones he had in his shop itself.)
Oh well.

Erk. I just suggested that it might not be a bad long-term goal to a newbie. *facepalm*

It's okay, you really had no way of knowing that it would be gone at the end of the month haha. Take your newbie aside and have a chat. You can rp it out since they have a reason why they aren't there anymore!

Seems silly to make the whole curio system then not at least leave the for-gold casks.
Ssaliss2011-08-01 00:55:46
Yeah... Curios will become far more expensive from now on, I wager. Unless the coin-quest is put in and made relatively generally available.

Ssaliss2011-08-01 01:00:14
Yeah. 350k for 3 curios and coins, and 1.5m for 15 of each.

Having a job is great. Being able to buy credits is also great. (Crates > credits, however, so I hope those come back soon.) That doesn't really have much to do with my rant, though, and if my one liner with a very angry smiley in tweets is the cause of such an indignant post, I apologize. Since I should have been outside in the sun rather than in my mother's basement drinking blood and/or Mountain Dew, consider it rescinded. What is this "job" you speak of?
Anyway, of the killsteals, one person seemed to realize after and apologized. The rest, I suspect, were either running bashing scripts or just really, really wanted that extra 2 points. On the plus side, I'm up 3 levels this weekend. Double experience is pretty awesome. Also am wondering where the heck Denali was hunting.

Can wildnodes be made automated instead of an admin having to flick the switch? Being told in the newsletter that there's gonna be wildnodes on a certain day, and getting excited for it, then it not happening is really disappointing. I had something longer planned, but I'm just too disappointed. And please stop doing it on days that are not Sunday.

Admins try and do it when there are a lot of people around that can participate. If it were automated, people would complain that it unfairly favored "insert org here" because of their concentration of combatants around at that time.
