Cthoglogg is actually made of wet tissue paper compared to how hard he can hit if you don't have a group. It would probably take a single person a few minutes to solo him, assuming they could tank.

When I did mine, we went in with 15ish people, and he died pretty much instantly.

You can bring 15 people and just not have them hit him.

Which is exactly how Solanis got his, I think.

Well there were a couple evil people who didn't listen and tried to steal it each time but yeah. I don't know how much the recentish mob level /health changes affect how easy they die but it seemed pretty significant the last time I was around when Zenobia was attacked.

And yeah, for some reason there's been bugs with the illithoid side of the quest lately which in reality is problematic for both sides.

I'm not a very tanky person though. However just using reflections and having researchers with gems focused on me should certainly make it easier.

Where are all of these things -coming- from? I log in and all of a sudden I have a full set of pipes, or twenty porkchops? Augh.

Got hit with reality at the very beginning of -both- fights. I didn't even get to hit anybody before I died.

I had the distinct honor of being among the last to die both times, due to my horrible sense of direction and lack of a map open at the time. It was fun though, gives me room to improve for next time.

Edit: And, y'know, my distinct lack of ferocious threateningness.

For being an epic quest that clearly suggests you're supposed to do it on your own, the gnafia hits WAY too hard. Over 9k damage twice before you can get in one attack of your own is ridiculous.
