If you're talking about Xion, there's a bug in the queue.
Kiradawea2011-08-25 18:14:58
Not "A" bug, but either way. Moxie's always been wonky in every department.
Razenth2011-08-25 18:20:46
Roxie?

And apparently hits more than once every hit.

Boy. That sounds like a bug.

Razenth and Talan reported it, at least.
P.S., bitching about bugs on the forums and not reporting them really doesn't help your case. And this:
QUOTE
Lifting a massive leg ponderously, a giant crystal golem releases a noxious
cloud of exhaust fumes that obscures your vision in a choking cloud, burning
your lungs as acrid tears flow from your eyes.
Raising his hands slowly, a giant crystal golem unleashes a barrage of jagged
crystalline shards that pierce the air, shredding your flesh in a flurry of
razor fragments.
Raising his hands slowly, a giant crystal golem unleashes a barrage of jagged
crystalline shards that pierce the air, shredding your flesh in a flurry of
razor fragments.
Hunkering into a slumped crouch, a giant crystal golem clenches his fists.
Multiple oblong projectiles rocket from his back trailing smoke and flame,
spiralling crazily in the air as they detonate all around, engulfing the area in
a roaring blaze.

Is pretty obviously a bug.
Bad players. Bad.
(Well, or Roxie learned how to haymaker...)
Kiradawea2011-08-25 19:07:13
I've bugged it before. Got a response that it isn't a bug.
Rakor2011-08-25 19:15:19
Yes, I believe that is actually what we refer to as a "feature," Eventru.

This happens ALL THE TIME to things that are obviously bugs. Most of them can be explained by the "default message because no one could fix it before it auto-rejected" though.
Kiradawea2011-08-25 20:38:23
True. Sometimes they're pretty quick to reject em though. Goodness knows how many times I've bugged various aspects of Xion, and while it can be completed, there are many things that just don't seem right at all.

Yeaaaaaah...that was fun, dying that quickly. I was stunned by it. Didn't even get a chance to look at the log yet to see what happened. I just had a flash of spam on my screen and saw that I was dead. Definitely something to bug, but I'm not even exactly sure what I was fighting. I was just helping with a battle before I ran to work!
Ytran2011-08-26 00:57:42
That happened to me when I did the Xion quest, without even doing the epic stuff.
I can't remember if I bugged it or not, though. Was a long time ago. Oh well.

Roxie hitting 6+ times at once is obviously a bug - and I doubt it was resolved as 'not a bug'.
The system may, however, have resolved it (ie timed out) as 'not replicable'.

He's actually killing people though, so that can't be it
I've never done the Xion quest before but this really explains some of those Marathon deathsights we've seen. I admit I've always wondered "If one creature can kill so many people so quickly, how is anyone supposed to beat that alone o.o?"

Is is wrong with all this Hurricane coverage I think of what kind of excitement we'll have in game when they can create Hurricanes as part of the weather once everything is done with that?
(Assuming Hurricanes can happen in Lusternia, of course).

We can already make Hurricanes. We just need a Cel-Gau-Hal alliance.

There've been hurricanes in Lusternia before.
Mind you, I doubt they'd occur naturally in the Basin of Life. Not enough open water, really. Though they do pop up in the southern caribbean from time to time, so I suppose it's possible.
(They normally start off as cyclones way east, off the coast of Africa, and generally drift across the atlantic, slowly building into depressions before they reach the warmer, shallower regions near the west indies and Florida - which is where they quickly build into the swirling behemoths you're seeing right now).
Tangentially, I hope all you new englanders stocked up on flashlights, water batteries and alphabet soup!

Wouldn't a "natural" hurricane be possible if it came from the ocean surrounding the Basins, as hinted in this map.
http://www.lusternia.com/map/basin-of-life-graphic-map
I mean, the Basin can't be much larger than Australia, if that--maybe it is New England (or England/France) sized. (I don't know what scale it's at). I think a large hurricane might be the size of the entire basin.

Hurricanes and mountains don't mix (Cuba has mountains, a small patch, and they can shred a Cat 3 to a tropical storm overnight).
