Most screwy timers can be 'gamed' or just done with great timings. This one.. literally impossible.

Which quest?

Orphanage dark side. It's ok I guess, I counterbalanced my sadness of that brokenness with a shiny new other honours line!! 95 now :)
Kiradawea2011-11-22 20:23:34
Which one?

Anyway, is the broken-ness in the timer, at which point you should bug it as Lightside had a few bugs in that regard that Iosai fixed up neatly, or in the fact that you need to perform actions that'll get you enemied to Semau in order to help Semau, at which point... you should probably bug it anyway to at least get it cleared up if it is Working As Intended.
Talan2011-11-22 20:28:12
Yes, yes. Bug everything so it is nice and fixed for the rest of us. Thank you!

More Honours quests please that don't impact orgs! Fluff that orgs won't care one whit about, but are still fun just to be fun. Also, do love the new Clarramore quests, even if they needed some tweaking here and there at first.

How did Ysera slip through o.O. Now we have two wow-names.

And she's not even a druid!
Unknown2011-11-23 18:42:47
You know, there's SO much fiction out there that you can't be anal about names anymore. Who can read all the novels, RPGs, play all the video games, see all the movies, tv shows, and anime? Nobody can read everything. For instance, I don't play WoW so I have no idea what you are talking about.
Enyalida2011-11-23 19:53:39
I'm way more okay with copy names if they are different then what they copied in RP. If she was a Druid, I'd be more annoyed. That's like when 'Malfeas' the Nihlist popped up.
Sylphas2011-11-24 01:26:58
My fox is totally not a tree.
Enyalida2011-11-24 02:20:06
I noticed that, hehe.

I can't believe we're not cracking down on these OOC names harder. I feel like my immersion into the game is being ruined when I see these easily recognizable wow names are coming through

Cannot recall if there is another thread but I am excited. Thank you Iosai (so I assume)

KATA FORMS has been updated with new lines! Now you get this:

You know the following Kata forms:

Total: 43 / 100

It tracks accurately of course, but I PERSONALLY only have 43. So you can track your max and current now. :)
Nerra2011-11-24 13:53:50
I really don't mind the OOC names. So many people already have them. Thankfully I never played wow so I don't recognize them :)
Unknown2011-11-24 14:01:23
Mine's technically OOC because it's just my last name. Oop! Also there's the whole sun god thing but I honestly don't even consider that when I use it. I'm just awful at thinking up names and most people I meet like to call me Phoebus anyway soooo yeah. I did not expect to play Lusternia for any significant amount of time.
Unknown2011-11-24 15:10:49
I used to pick one letter at a time when coming up with my names. Which is probably why "Akui" is only four letters...

But since the name generator came out, in that maybe-twice-a-RL-year mood where I want to make an alt, I just spam the generator until I see one I like, and maybe tweak it just a little. If it isn't already, it would be nice if the name generator was accessible at creation as a "suggestion".

That said, the fictional name stealing generally doesn't bother me, unless it is particularly painful, or pop culture current. (Voldemort the geomancer would probably make me cringe quite a bit). Also annoying is, as mentioned, characters who actually are what they are named after- though the learning curve/participation wall of Lusternia seems to weed a lot of these out.

On the other hand, if playing Pippin the Furrikin gets a new player to stick around for more than an hour or so to see what the game is like, and maybe become a more serious player, hey, power to the hobbikin.
Unknown2011-11-24 16:18:27
My names have all come from baby books. However, when I made Aeral, I didn't even realize the number of people who already had a name like that. -.-
Sylphas2011-11-24 17:18:37
Should just force all new players to register their names through the SCA College of Arms first. It'll get rid of the fantasy names! (And ensure we only get the hardcore players willing to wait nine months.)

That's what I meant about pop culture--there's so much stuff it's hard to measure what everybody knows. Most people know Harry Potter's chief villain, but do they play WoW? There's so much stuff out there that it's really hard for anybody to know it all and catch the references. I was the only person, for instance (at least according to him), who knew that Incabulous' name was taken from a god in the World of Greyhawk. An anime fan would know many names but would many people who didn't know it. And there's always coincidences in more common names.

I'd be more worried about people who try to play WoW and Lusternia at the same time, which I've heard some people do. Being AFK for long periods is much more worrisome than somebody borrowing a name that's not something everybody should expect to know.
