Hellz yeah. Black Talon and Hartstone are by FAR the two best guild I've ever alted in, over shoulder watched, or generally read about. Followed closely by celestines.

What is going on with IRE lately. These are the latest articles on their web site.

Why is this company seeming to be moving away from strict role-playing? Saying it's okay to be AFK? Encouraging people to play multiple games at once?

I don't want to sound like an elitist, but the whole appeal of a text game is its strong RP level background as well as the advanced combat. With all the competition out there, shouldn't they focus on the specific appeal of the MUDs, use more targeted marketing. Do they want the game to turn into a generic WoW type game where nobody RPs? There's too much competition out there--why not focus on your strengths and your core.

It's depressing when I try to have a conversation and find people are "away" more or less. The more this happens the more others are encouraged to do it.

Things haven't gotten too bad, yet, but I am getting somewhat concerned. I trust this game's admin, but I get concerned when the guy "at the top" (that is, head of IRE) seems to be almost totally disconnected from the MUD experience. :(
