Who won then? Not Rika??
Chade2012-01-22 06:32:21
Xenthos, Svorai, Pesukaru, Me and not sure who landed fifth place.

Waste facility and icediggers on the spire made me :(
<3 for the helpful people though.

I got the bugged angel one as my first clue.
For the waste area, Chade who reportedly killed the Janitor, Nihta, Naia, and camped there as port targets, Shuyin and anyone else who used them as port targets. and anyone else involved in monolithing the area or camping it without reporting.... I pity your character.
Really though nothing here came as a surprise to me, for either issue.

Woo congrats guys!

Xenthos:
That bug affected me for a very, very long time as well. Long before you got it (we could tell when you got that clue).
You aren't to blame. Congrats on the win.
Unknown2012-01-22 06:37:14
I too am surprised that "do what it takes to win" happened during Serious Business (tm).
This has never happened in Lusternia before.

Oh yeah, I'll admit Xenthos would have won even without those two things (and I congratulate you for that) and I wasn't affected by the bug nearly as much as some people did, but the other places would be completely different if it wasn't for the Waste Storage Facility. I'm not even talking about myself either.
@Shuyin: Oh, I'm not surprised at how the players handled the event. My disappointment was in the event itself.

Thank you!
My compatriots can tell you I was pretty darned emo about that Shelma clue though. :(

Unfortunately we were having issues with the system (which was why the event was running late), and testing was cut short because people were hanging out at one of the clue spots (the Ail'an Gloria spot), which came before the tester's getting to the Shellma clue (which was bugged, and the way it stores information caused it to ripple after you got the bad bug).
Likewise, the designer wasn't aware that you needed the one mob alive to get into the lower levels of the waste facility.
Ah well. Live and learn. A good hunt, besides - and Xenthos did very well! Congratulations to everyone.

The fault lies with the admin, who shouldn't have placed clues in areas accessed by quests. In previous hunts/challenges they did this, but not this time for some reason. I don't think anyone expected either side to not take advantage of an area that could be locked down so easily.
edit: okay.

Am I the only one who was mis-spelling Ail'an Gloria for a good 10 mins? :D
Rika2012-01-22 06:45:49
We even told you!
Ushaara2012-01-22 06:47:19
"No, I checked there. Not it!" I'm an idiot... :D
Unknown2012-01-22 06:47:47
i am so exhausted by this entire day
I also feel really bad that everyone got to see what my typing looks like when I don't take the time to correct it for typos.

No, my original wreath said to say Ailan' so I copy pasted and ran around for ages saying that until I saw someone else say the correct version. I was speaking to Avechna during the event to try and get the wreaths sorted which was managed in the end. Mine became active at the exact same moment everyone elses did.
Unknown2012-01-22 07:01:22
I just knew how to spell Ail'an Gloria because I made that 9/11 parody image with the crying eagle on it and :censor:.
(woops I forgot about no cusses)

My original wreath said that too, I just ignored it. Ail'an worked so I didn't even try the other.

In other news, I am enjoying the fact that I finally have an excuse to write something called "the Slander". Been wanting to do it ever since I did the Gaudi history quest.
Rivius2012-01-22 07:39:18
...Did the event start late? I was waiting for a fair bit of time close to midnight where I live here and ended up falling asleep some time after it should have started. Maybe I had my time wrong. Wanted to at least get the nature souvenir for this year :/
