Parthwhatever is a permissible name. We don't force name changes on that kind of thing.

"You are playing Chairman Cririk Adom, and have the role: director."
This made me happier than it probably should have. Too bad I didn't get to really play very long.

A private design being rejected due to me using the word 'the' instead of 'a'. There is a reason I have private designs in my cartel. I intend to be the -only- one with the design, and the fact that all the designs I make I plan on runeing at somepoint. :(
While I understand the reasoning because most people share their private designs. I didn't buy a private cartel so others could be wearing my designs, instead of paying 500 some credits for customizations of the various jewelry I have.

That makes sense, though. The ability to make those designs is still there and you can't actually stop anyone from making it, and nothing is stopping you from making more than one, either. You might intend for it to be the only one of its kind, but since the possibility exists that they can be reproduced, it's understandable that things wouldn't be allowed to make it through as 'the original necklace do not steal' or 'the big man's special hat'. If you want something to be THE one-and-only thing by function and name, you generally have to get it customized.

I understand completely. but I don't have the credits for that (well I do, but still).
Related: Since when can't powerstones be melted - I mean, they are are 'hard as diamond' and last I checked diamonds could be melted. Unless my logic here is flawed?
Razenth2012-01-25 18:57:08
Yes. It's flawed because they can't be melted with Lusternian technology. You'd need an Aeromancer at least.
Ytran2012-01-25 18:59:37
"Hard as diamond" does not imply "possesses all of the same physical and chemical characteristics as diamond".

Also: When a diamond is melted, it ceases being a diamond, becoming loose carbon instead.

I suppose so. I just figured that it had some melting point within reachable means.
Eritheyl2012-01-25 19:50:59
Even though diamond can't feasibly be melted, I've never had issues implying that it's somehow malleable and able to be used as a clear gloss (quite sure Vermilla kicked this trend off with weevil pipes, could be wrong). I guess if this is a design issue, you could just pull something along the same lines. But outright saying 'melted powerstones' is just a no.
Razenth2012-01-25 19:52:58
It could be related to the fact that we don't have a feasible glass/crystal commodity, and apparently gems serve that purpose here in Lusternia, despite the ludicrousness of it all.

Pretty much this, yes. Though if there weren't snails in existence aside from the big glass-shelled ones in the Cathedral...
Razenth2012-01-25 19:58:49
Lusternia: where the glass industry is not based on silica, but on gemstones and an endangered species of giant snail that is only found in a particular mountain valley hidden behind a gauntlet of traps and infested with undead.
Eritheyl2012-01-25 19:59:47
Actually, DO other snails exist? If not, I'd just throw 'snail' in as a commodity for glass-related design needs. Hmmm...
Unknown2012-01-25 20:13:23
I believe gems, sand and perhaps fire-essence may be used for glass... I've mostly used gems.
Razenth2012-01-25 20:21:19
Oh wait wait.
Lusternia: where apparently there is only ONE person in the entire Basin who knows the secret of transforming glass into sand, and he ain't sharing. The rest of us will have to get by with gemstones.

Not entirely true. All of Gaudiguch knows how to turn sand into obsidian.

Take a look at the earwort in your rift.
Good luck getting the Charites to live with the implications, though.

This was a few days ago, but it still makes me facepalm.
Questing, and discovered that I need to wait for respawns in order to finish. My initial reaction is to press the wait button to skip ahead a few hours.
Waaaay too much skyrim lately.
