Wait, is this actually doable, as far as using obsidian in designs? I was told you had to use inferno beetles, but there aren't enough of them available to be able to have a mostly (or entirely) obsidian design. Sand, on the other hand...

They also let you use the obsidian lumps from the Gaudiguch power quest.

There's 10 sands each in the Celest and Gaudiguch power quests, plus like 12 Sands of the Dreaming. You can also make glass with Kazikage or Inferno Beetles.
