I've been actually surprised the gods haven't really attempted to create new life forms on Prime in the CoE age. After all, they did that a lot in the past. (Unless I missed something). They've done a few in the godrealms I believe, but I'm just a little curious about that.
I imagine most gods are past the point of willy-nilly making life - the only instance I can think of, off-hand, is Charune making a special tree (as a gift for Lisaera) and the Quinataur.
Not including, of course, Viravain's attempts to remake Gloriana, I can't think of any other instances, godrealms or otherwise.
(Oh, Lisaera awoke her urn-bearing ice nymphs from snow and gave them urns someone (Alianna? Maybe?) hunted for her.)

A lifeform, maybe. A rabid squirrel or a feral donkey, perhaps. Sapient, no. Elder Gods cannot create sapient life.
It's now my goal to become a Vernal, so I can have a hideously malformed custom pet made from my flawed, imperfect essence. Called "Jackotaur" or "Jackalope" or something.

Really? What about the god pets like Hinagar? I was always under the assumption that they were bits of the God's essence.
PS, my vote is for Jackalope.

I dunno about the others, but I thought Makfir (Fain's pet of choice) was a crazy Half-formed he managed to tame.

Can't really speak to where other gods' pets come from, as I don't pay that close attention. I doubt anyone has a mad half-formed running around as a pet, since they aren't exactly 'tameable,' I don't think.
If I had to speculate, I'd guess the proverbial tale has grown with the telling. (If only because half-formed tend to be humanoids, ie 2 arms, 2 legs, 1 head, star-shaped - makfir is decidedly wolf-like. Granted, who knows what happens to them after they go insane.)
I suppose any real information as to their origins will have the be gleaned... ICly!

Well illuminati do have homunculus which you can name and have them do emotes.

Jackalopes are Fearsome Creatures and likely some sort of fae, just like the Squonk.
