Anyone know off hand what it costs to rent a car? And how renting works for non-citizens.

Being married to a Vegas native (lived here five years myself) there's a decent bit to do off the strip, since we hates it. Red Rock is definitely worth taking a visit out to. Very pretty, and there's burros who will swarm your car if you even think about giving them food. If you don't mind doing a bit of driving, you can also go see Death Valley. A lot of European tourists come here during the summer just to go do that. There's Hoover Dam, there's indoor skydiving (float in puff suits thanks to a giant ass propeller under a metal grate underneath you). There's also a roller coaster at the New York New York that's pretty nifty.

There are a lot of neat free things to see at the casinos. The outdoor show at the Treasure Island, the fountains at the Bellagio, the lions at the MGM.

As far as shows go, I wanna throw my vote in also for Penn and Teller. They do an excellent show. The Lion King at the Mandalay Bay is a great one to catch as well (hubs proposed to me the night we went smile.gif ). KA is an epic story with some amazing acrobatics thrown in.

As far as rentals go, couldn't tell you. Typically, they jack the rates up if you're not 25, and make sure you fill the car up before you drop it back off at the rental place or else they charge you way over what gas costs. Right now, expect $3.65-$3.75 a gallon depending on what part of town you're in.
