Six is the maximum number you can have, if you've raised all the dead ones back with the quest.

Anyhow, it'd be very hard to pull the quest off, since it requires some time in Magnagora, then hours and hours and hours and hours in Serenwilde.

It would be nice for a updated hunting/gold post. Yet so far doing what is listed and seems to be paying off a bit. Just earned 40k in two days so it is a start. Trying to get 3 million as quickly as I can in game.

For irony: Look at the thread title, then the last half of this thread.

Looks like the credit market is still kinda wacky

QUOTE
7 credits at 12000 gold per credit.
17 credits at 17949 gold per credit.
6 credits at 20000 gold per credit.
5 credits at 65000 gold per credit.

I'd buy some and add to the pool but I'm more or less tapped out--plus I have close to 1800 bound ones now, time to get myself something fun.

Is 10,000gp now the best discounted rate right now? (That's a heck of a lot of inflation!)

Would Goldsinks bring the price of the credits down?
Unknown2011-09-14 01:00:53
Yes. Even with credits flowing in faster, the sheer amount of stockpiled gold by speculators is still allowing them to play the market.

Gold sinks help get a lot of that out of the system.
Ssaliss2011-09-14 01:05:49
It would also help offset gold inflow. Perhaps set up a tollbooth to the UV? 100k gold, stay for an hour, then get kicked out.

Pyramid puzzles, those dingbat UVbixes, and toruses with an exit to the UV would be very highly prized.

Spores, too, and hermit.

There are also more things to do in the UV than hunt kepherans and illithoid for gold. There are 2 villages, a few other areas, and a pile of quests. Just a bit... difficult to restrict all of that in that manner.

I guess the bigger question is, has the supply dwindled, because even with the inflation there's simply not a lot of credits being sold, where about 3-4 months ago I think there was a pool of over at least 300 available (I really can't remember). I don't remember inflation of the past reducing the supply significantly.
Ssaliss2011-09-14 01:19:02
The problem is, we don't see the amount sold; only the amount on the market. As more gold enters the system, fewer credits stay up on the market.

The market also only represents the credits people are willing to part with for gold. As the number of people who have all the gold they need goes up, so too does the number of credits available via gold market go down. Why sell credits when what you might need gold for most is... buying more credits/dingbats?
Ssaliss2011-09-14 01:38:49
That's definitely another view that I honestly hadn't thought of. Either way, the consensus seems to be: Something needs to drain the gold out of the system, or we'll keep seeing this inflation (which really hurts those of us not able to stick our toe into that big pot of gold).

What, sarcasm? Hssst!
Shulamit2011-09-14 05:06:23
Send all gold to Shulamit. She will eat it up, it will be a wonderful gold sink.

*cough*

Oh ok, just a joke (sorta...). While curios were nice, I'm sure they can figure out another goldsink, like....have AC's in your manse! No, they don't do anything, but now you can say your manse has ACs. *sagenod* *ponder* I'm bad at coming up with gold sinks, it seems.
Unknown2011-09-14 06:24:49
Curios minus any relation to Coins would be cool. As would many other manse expansion things. Aetherspace related stuff is another place where I can see gold getting dumped into. The list of ways to expand existing gold sinks seems endless now that I think about it, and any and all of it would help. Clan customization features? Heck, anything where a player has a valid reason to let the game eat a huge chunk of gold is... well, golden.

No. A big empathic No. Once more for emphasis: No.

The reason why credit prices are so high is due to speculation. People regularly put credits up for 10K or less, but then they get bought up and put back on the market at a higher price. People having more gold is a contributing factor, but more because it allows speculators to buy more credits up in a single swoop than due to the relative utility (note that this is different than the market value!) of gold decreasing while the relative utility of credits remain constant.

The cure for this problem is not "take gold out of the economy to make existing gold more precious" but rather "prevent credit market speculation." This would be accomplished by making it so that credits sold via CREDITS FOR SALE are bound on purchase, thus preventing people from buying up credits on the credit market for resale. Resale would still be possible, of course, but only via TRANSFER CREDITS TO FOR GOLD.

This also means you could never buy a present for anyone, have to be bought in normal credits and cant sell people bound. We would need a third kind of credit to not do this in a messy way or to have it mark credits as "none saleable" when you buy, lets say you have 10 and buy 30. you Go to sell 20 (You started with 10 before buying from market), you get told about it:

"Credits are not for speculation, and you do not have that many credits of your own."

Or something of that nature.

Honestly there IS a reduction in credits bought. If you have forgotten over time people have been getting alot from elite membership, 100-150 credits a month and its been several. Elite memberships are cheaper than just buying credits and come with perks.

I still think giving more value for dingbats would help as well, people get more for their dingbats and that means credits move around, especially if you have something to spend dingbats on. Anyway there will always be issues with most solutions but those seemed like reasons for me. I wish I Knew what kind of dingbat artys we could use that wouldnt break something, but until we get an evaluation of combat/bugs/and lag I cannot see us having a reasonable way to fix much of anything arty wise or combat effectually. As to ideas to make gold sinks there are plenty I could list but this post is already getting lengthy.
